Imagine a chasing scene through a snowy landscape.
The only reason the giant hadn't snatched them up already was because the human was running through dense woodland, by some miracle always being able to dodge at the last second. Eventually even gaining some distance because the giant can't run at their full speed.
But then the human reaches a clearing, no more trees providing protection.
The human makes it halfway, when they hear the giant yelling for them to stop once more. But this time it sounds more urgent, almost panicked.
The human doesn't listen of course, desperately trying to reach the trees on the other side of the clearing.
They risk a glance back, they almost stop running out of shock when they notice that the giant has stopped chasing after them.
They can still hear the giant yell as they stand still at the edge of the woods, but the human doesn't care and keeps running.
When suddenly they slip on a icy spot
They slide a couple of feet across the snow covered ground before they can even try to pull themself up again. The cold, fear and adrenaline making things more difficult.
But as they try to prop themself up on their hands and knees they hear a faint cracking sound that causes their heart to drop.
As they shakily push the snow out of the way they uncover the unmistakable sight of cracked ice.
Their fear reaches a new high as they realize they are trapped in the middle of a frozen lake.
