Today it rained around the ring of Kerry, I tried my best not to be so dreary. The floods and the wind put a damper on the day, next time I shall see Ireland a different way. For now I'll make the most of this and have lunch with Charlie, as today is my very last in the area around Killarney. Galway tomorrow, I'll bus around the floods for the Aran islands on Tuesday will give me the peace of many doves.

Today I love you Australia, and the Amsterdam Light Festival is reminding me how much. They called me Koala bear

Amsterdam Dec 15 -9:15

Three in a row for a 17 hr journey. He was a Dutch team member of the winning World Solar Car race team and travelled around Aus for 3 months. She was a German business student who had just completed her semester abroad in Bali. I was a teaching grad setting off for a month in Europe.

They loved the sun and were morning their loss of it. I was glad to be rid of it and head off to my white Christmas.

They were picked up in Bali, fresh and full of energy. I had already been traveling for approximately 14 hrs.

They chose a movie to watch simultaneously after take off. I settled in for a much needed sleep.

We all had to deplane and re board in Singapore for a technical spot and that’s where they named me Koala bear.

We got along well and stuck together in good company but I, still exhausted was much in favour of napping, sometimes while still in line on my feet. Wonderful to have friendly company on our long flight together, smiles and laughs all around. Cheers Deez and Keirstin, thanks for the memories.

We are on the same set of flights and we were all stuck in the airport together for 8 hours. Great to get to know this crew and have someone to talk to. (Me, Keira, Chop, Mum, Fitzy)

Learning all around

She was at least 3 times my age. It was her first plane trip and she barely spoke my language, but we managed to make it work. She asked many questions regarding protocol, timezones and I tried to answer them well. What a reminder to check my privilege.
