“Mycroft ate all the cake from yesterday!”

“Sherlock is in love with John!” Mycroft yells. The Holmes boys had forgotten about their smaller friend sitting in the other room.

“Oh ya? Well Mycroft likes Lestrade!” Sherlock yelled. Mycroft was taken aback.

“You promised you’d never speak of that.” He says, glaring at his younger brother.

“You promised you’d never speak about John!” Sherlock said. In the heat of the argument, he hadn’t noticed John right behind the door.

“At least I’ve had a relationship before.” Mycroft was happy to have one upped Sherlock.

“Oh ya? Well.. well it was a girl!”

“So?”

“And in third grade!”

“Elenor was smart and humorous.”

“Well, neither of our crushes will ever be more then crushes.” Sherlock end. Mycroft looked at the table and sighed.

“My apologies for speaking of John.” Mycroft said.

“I’m sorry for talking about Lestrade.”

“But uh, Sherlock?”

“Hm?”

“The difference between you and me, during an argument, I still notice when people are listening in. And I still remember our guests.”

Sherlocks face went patsy white, as the door opened. John stood there, but eyes locked on the back of Sherlocks head. “Excuse me.” He said, not turning around. Sherlock made his way outside.

“Sherl-“

“Not now.” He cut John off, and hurried outside.

“Where’s he going?” John asked Mycroft.

“Probably to the river where we’d play with redbeard. He always takes the long way. Cut through the forest and go east. Find a shack and that’s where he’ll be.”

“Thanks.” John said, running to the door. “Oh and.. Lestrade?” Mycroft looked up. “He fancies you.” Mycroft’s face went red as John ran out and door and to the woods. He raced east, panting against the cold air.

He finally made it to the shack Mycroft told him about, and he looked around. He noticed Sherlock walking slowly down the beach, towards him. John hid behind the shack, and caught his breath.

When Sherlock reached John, he moved from behind the shed. “Mycroft told you of the shortcut did he?”

“Ya.”

“Prick.”

They stared at each other for a moment. “Why’d you never tell me?”

“Tell you what?”

“You know what.”

They again fell into silence. “I was scared.” He finally whispered.

“Sorry?”

“I was scared John. I’d never.. loved.. anyone. I’ve cared for some people but I’ve never..”

“Loved?” John finished. “Ya know, in the end, I never thought I’d fall in love with a highly functioning sociopath.” Sherlock met Johns gaze.

“You.. you fell in love with..”

“You.” John could feel the tears in his eyes. “And I’ve, I’ve never cared for anyone like you. I’ve never felt so happy to solve crimes, and every time I see you smile I smile and every time you cry I cry so please.. Sherlock..” John walked up, and wiped away Sherlocks tears. “Don’t cry.”

Sherlock looked at John. “I can’t.”

“Why?”

“Because that would mean cutting off my emotions. And if I did that, I’d stop loving you. And I, really, don’t want to stop loving you.”

John smiled. “Me neither.”

Sherlock holmes is selfish best joke of the decade....sherlock is innocent child in the body adult men...a person who loves kids and dogs are never a selfish or bad person...his character is very interesting and complex...he is a nice human being who loves helping people...he might be suffering from asperger syndrome...that's why his personality is very complex and people read it as being selfish...

PLEASE HELP

I never thought I’d make a post like this, but here I am.

My friend Kelly is 16 and has 2 years to live. 

Kelly is an inspiring, artistic, clever and beautiful girl.

She has been diagnosed with Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) in October 2015. It’s a rare, aggressive cancer that usually begins in the abdomen. It’s so rare that only 20 adolescents in USA are diagnosed with it a year.

Our friend Kelly has been through 9 rounds of chemotherapy but the tumors are close to her liver. The operation is not possible in UK.

THERE IS HOPE.

There is hope in  The University College Hospital @ London, The MSK @ New York and possibly Christies @ Manchester.

The surgery in USA is not covered by insurance and so we have to found it. We need you to help.  We need £1million for this to happen. We have 80 days.  We need help.

Felt the need to signal boost this again. According to this update, the hospital has taken scans and confirmed that they can and will do the surgery, but the family is only at about 10% of their goal. Please give if you can, and share Kelly’s story if you can’t. I can’t imagine what it feels like to know something could save your life but also knowing that you can’t afford it. No one deserves to go through suffering like this. Let’s do what we can to see that Kelly won’t have to, either.

I saw the Chris Carter interview too in an issue of EW today by Darren Franich. The question wasn't even about any romantic relationship, it was about people wanting to see Mulder and Scully on their screens again but Chris directed his answer towards shippers. The author rightly called him a sociopath, but maybe put him on the defensive by saying it to his face. But good job Darren Franich!

Day 156: All Things

Given that “All Things” is best remembered for the teaser suggesting—even to the Resident Troll—that  Scully spent the night in Mulder’s bed, it is ironic that Gillian Anderson’s original script did not contain that important scene.

“When I first wrote this episode, it did not hint at the fact or the notion that Mulder and Scully may have spent the night together. But at some point Frank Spotnitz had come to me and said, you know, around this time in the season we were thinking that it might be a good idea to imply that and it might be possible for us to add it into the script and so that’s kind of how it came about that Scully starts this episode basically in Mulder’s bathroom putting on her clothes and the insinuation that they have indeed spent the night together.”

The teaser turned out to be nothing more than a tease since Mulder and Scully don’t even kiss on screen, let alone have a sex scene. But at least to me, it confirmed that at some point during the series, before “All Things,” they had already had sex, and most likely on more than one occasion. How likely is it that a woman who is in love would leave her beloved’s bed the morning after their first time together? (Scully doesn’t exactly look happy, either. I wish I knew what that was about. Mulder probably wondered the same thing. Feel free to argue with me about this point. Or any point. At any time.)

It doesn’t always add to my enjoyment, but listening to Anderson’s commentary track for “All Things” gave me a better understanding what she was attempting to do, even if it didn’t ultimately change my mind about the result. There are some facets that worked beautifully. Mark Snow’s score was wonderful. I liked Moby’s song and thought it fit well with the mood she was trying to achieve. I liked the aesthetics of the individual scenes and the overall tone. Even the slower pacing of the episode worked for me, given that its theme was Scully’s personal transformation.

“I mean, this episode was really the beginning of Scully on a more spiritual than religious path… and that’s a lot of… well, (laughs) as in the fact that I am not a religious person, but I try to be a spiritual person. And her standing up against someone that she cares for very much but who believes in none of it and that Scully on one level feels like she has opened up to a whole other world finally, even in Mulder’s absence, that she’s opened up to this other world, where she sees the order of things and she sees how one event in life leads to another and the cause and effect and the cyclical aspect of human life, of spiritual life…”

I’ve always thought The X-Files is about Scully’s journey of discovery, as a professional and a human being. What I didn’t like about “All Things” are the specific changes Anderson wanted for her character. There is no way that Dr. Dana Scully would have participated in what her former mentor called “a voodoo ritual.” Furthermore, no physician would tell a patient recovering from a serious illness that it was their emotions which had caused it. Scully would never say to Daniel that it was his guilt about their past affair and its effect on his family that made him sick. She couldn’t be that cruel. And she wouldn’t agree that it was Colleen’s unhappiness with being a physicist that caused her breast cancer or that her decision to change occupations cured that illness. Why? Because Scully is a scientist and there is no evidence, no scientific proof, to suggest that any of that is true.

Please understand that I love novels, stories, and fanfic about spiritual transformation. (Remind me sometime to tell you about the afternoon I saw God in a Denny’s restaurant in North Hollywood, California.) But there are too many of Gillian Anderson’s personal beliefs being shoehorned into this script. Scully’s conversation with Mulder at the end describes the problem perfectly.

MULDER: I just find it hard to believe.

SCULLY: What part?

MULDER: The part where I go away for two days and your whole life changes.

SCULLY: Mmm, I didn’t say my whole life changed.

MULDER: You speaking to God in a Buddhist temple. God speaking back.

SCULLY: Mmm, and I didn’t say that God spoke back. I said that I had some kind of a vision.

MULDER: Well, for you, that’s like saying you’re having David Crosby’s baby. 

Exactly. Mulder is right. It’s way too much and it’s way too soon to be believable. Nothing that happened here justifies the radical changes we see in Scully’s belief system, and her actions that follow.

I like the ending. The slow motion scene after Scully falls asleep mid-sentence and Mulder gently covers her with his blanket is very sweet and romantic. The statue of the Buddha sitting in the corner underneath Mulder’s fishtank provides a lovely visual coda.

Despite my reservations, I enjoyed rewatching “All Things.” It doesn’t hurt that Mulder’s ridiculous theories about the paranormal (the kid who drowned in margarita mix instead of ectoplasm, and the non-appearance of the crop circles) get proven wrong—twice.  Anyway, ATTHS.
