Oh boy it's coming down to the wire with 38 hours to go -- but good news, we passed $1400 so you can now add the Christmas wrasse to your order! I'm so excited about getting this pin made, I'm a big fan of that neon pallet.
Next is the bird wrasse with only $166 to go to add it to the lineup. I really love this fish, it's one of my favorites and though I've never photographed it, I've seen it many times. They're very interesting because there's a lot of dimorphism between sex and age. The pin is an example of an adult male bird wrasse. The females are also very attractive in patterns of white, black and red. The bird wrasse is also one of many fish that can perform sex reversal under certain circumstances. Can you resist that weird noodle face???
This pin design was PARTICULARLY challenging and I'm on the edge of my seat to see it made. It's a relatively small pin for the amount of detail I wanted for this guy. I don't trace the fish but I DO make brushes in clip studio by tracing one scale from each individual species and this guy required TWO scale brushes. Learning how to utilize the UV printing has allowed me to make designs that are even more detailed than Reef 'Ohana 1 and the factory has assured me it can be done!

Kickstarter Voting and new merch!
There is a LOT going on in our Reef Ohana Kickstarter campaign! We reached our goal, first of all. YAY! The pins are being made!!
Next, we are having a round of voting for the backers to choose what our stretch goal should be since we've got a little less than two weeks to keep funding.
Voting will be open for backers to choose the stretch goal until MONDAY at 9:30 AM PST! If you're a new backer, check the updates! Pledge to join the voting!
There's two more days for backers to vote but the votes are heavily leaning toward a sixth new enamel pin design.
If that ends up being the choice for the stretch goal, we'll have another brief vote to decide what Hawaiian reef creature the new pin should be. Options are (images from Wikipedia)
