What truly baffles me about tv shows and there writers is why don’t they listen to their audience. Now I understand not pandering to your audience and not just doing fan service, but there is a difference. If you have got fans saying they hate the plot/characters and don’t like what’s going on, why continue. You can have critics and reviews slating the show but they ignore it and continue with the same shit show. For a tv show to flourish you need the audience to support it so why ignore them, why treat the fans like there opinion on the matter doesn’t count. You have these head writers and executive produces thinking they know best when in reality there job is to please us, there shows are for us and they really need to start acting like it!

Let's talk about supergirl

See what’s annoying about supergirl, is it could be a really good empowering feminist show. The first season had its problems but overall the women ran the whole thing and Kara was the star of her own show. Now look at season two, it moved to the CW so I was expecting more teen drama type. But this is where it became problematic, in the 1st episode they dropped the interracial couple (for no reason) to have a white male come in and take over, now James has also had hardly any screen time this season, and it’s very noticeable. They then essential replaced cat grant with snapper, another white male.

Now onto Mon-el (this piece of crap) lets be realistic this character is boring and has been done so many times and most tv shows, the bad boy who turns good for a girl (it’s overdone). Now Kara takes him under her wing (rightfully so) but he’s annoying and doesn’t want to train, again that’s fine. Now I could of liked Mon-el if he wasn’t instantly introduced as a love Interest, and takes up so much screen time. But he does and when he’s on screen the show becomes slow and boring, not just that but it feels more like his show now with Kara being a side character. Mon-el has toyed and played with Kara and her feelings and it’s unhealthy, Kara has no friends (Alex doesn’t count) and mon-el could of been that friend, and when he confessed his feelings she looked tired and I unenthusiastic. Now this annoys me too, in tv why does it teach young girls that when you say no to a guy, if he keeps trying and keeps pursuing you, to give in and give him a chance. This is problematic as fuck and not correct, and people wonder why in society men don’t take no for an answer, it’s because there taught “keep trying and she will give in”. Young girls watch this show and it teaches them the wrong lessons.

Now you could say they’ve made Alex a lesbian and introduced Maggie, and that’s great, and there relationship is nice and sweet. And girls are being taught you can love who you want and that’s okay, and older women are being told it’s never too late to come out. But I’m the last few episodes they get little screen time, the Valentine’s Day episode was supposed to be sanvers centric and they were on screen for like 7 minutes. Because guess who took up screen time, mon-fucking-el. This episode was theres but the straight white male, who openly admitted to objectifying women,not only got the screen time but the girl too. It’s baffling.

Now Lena, this character is a fascinating character and her scenes are amazing, and never boring. Lenas battle with her name and good v evil is so compelling, I would rather watch Lena be good, than watch mon-el to the random shit he does. Lena and Kara also have a great friendship, one which she really needs right now, and yes people ship them and sometimes there talks are flirtatious, but I would be happy with them being friends, because there onscreen chemistry is great to watch and Kate McGrath is extremely talented.

I hope supergirl has a plan to either address mon-el and his problematic behaviour or just do something. Have someone call him out and give Kara a bloody storyline that’s doesn’t revolve around him. This show has gone off track and it needs to get back on track quick, because storylines like this is not enough to keep fans around.

Alycia’s Comic Con Copenhagen Panel Recap(9/24)

Alycia said she’s enjoyed Copenhagen so far but hasn’t had time to do sight seeing.

She also can confirm that she received a squid as a present.

Most interesting thing she’s ever heard/seen about herself that isn’t true: That she founded a Tulum.

Her journey from Australia to America: It’s been a long journey and she’s been doing it a long time. 

On Lexa’s death: No one expected it, it’s important that it happened because it shone a light on the issue. Made her the centre of an issue that she didn’t know if she had right to talk about it. Love is love.

What apocalypse would you prefer? Zombie or Radiation?: If she’s Lexa, then Radiation. In the zombie apocalypse she’d have ‘regular’ things.

Upcoming Projects: She’s trying to fit in films into her schedule.

Headcanons about Lexa/Alicia: She does have a backstory and headcanons about Lexa. She wished she’d had more information before shooting since they shot so fast. Hardest part about Alicia was creating her as a teenager and letting her be a teenager.

Learning Trig: Really hard. One of the challenges of the job. Hardest part is doing the “A, B, A,B” dialogue with another person. It wasn’t til later that they recognized what they were saying. 

Best experience of playing Lexa: Doing all the fight training and the fight in 304. 

Would you like to play a villain?: Yes, of course.

Do you ship Clexa as much as Eliza does?: Yes. Lexa and Clarke, it makes so much sense. It felt really natural. 

Would you play Lexa again in a prequel or something?: It’s hypothetical, but she’s busy with her show, I don’t think she really gave a yes or no answer.

Inspired her love for squids: Taken out of context, she didn’t realize how big it would become. It was Maia’s fault.

Spirit Animal: Doesn’t know, but it’s not a raccoon.

Favourite locations in Vancouver: A really nice bay/beach. For The 100, they film in the same spot, but one time it snows which was nice because she doesn’t see snow that much. 

Closer to Lexa or Alicia: Different elements of both. 

They had to cut it here because she arrived late but some fans gave her flowers and she took a selfie.

You no what , one thing that I will never forgive the 100 for is taking away my passion for tv. I loved tv shows I watched lots, far to many, and I would much prefer to watch a tv show than a film. Then 3x07 happened and the storyline went to shit and I lost all faith in tv shows. I have lots of shows that I am so far behind with because I don’t care anymore. After 3x07 I feel like all the motivation and excitement I had for tv went down the drain. So for that fuck you Jason, you took away one of the things I loved to do to take my mind off this shitty world

She lost her best friend, Wells, back in season one to a senseless killing. While Clarke would probably not say she was close to Lincoln, she has been friends with him for three seasons now, and she also has known Sinclair for at least as long.

In this way, the portmanteau Wanheda is darkly accurate; Clarke is the Commander of Death, not in that she necessarily causes it, but that she is constantly surrounded by it. Not that you’d know she was troubled. This season, she’s only allowed to address her pain or guilt insofar as it serves the needs of other (almost always male) characters, like Jasper and Bellamy.
