Watched the new Kommissar Rex show and it suuuuucked, why is the dog not doing anything and why does nobody have a personality and why are all chase scenes just people moving down a single road or hallway before getting caught and most of all WHAT is going on with the music oh my god! It manages to have some moments that feel like classic Rex, but overall...even the camera work has much less effort put into it. Man.
Turns out I was too harsh on the first 3 episodes (the only ones I'd seen when I made the post) because holy shit episode 4 and 5 were terrible on a whole other level?? Dude...all I wanna do these days is rant about these revival episodes I stg, I'm really holding back but WHAT is with the tone and why are the stories so out there and the MUSIC omfg. Also the writing is so bad, every episode introduces people and then all of them are in some way involved with the crime, there are no red herrings or anything, it's so stupid!

Saw so much on influencers begging brands to invite them to Coachella this year that I just had to draw the Sloth/Avarice-fusion doing it, it's literally exactly the kind of thing she'd do.
I find it fascinating, how we can see your skill improved, thanks to Sloth. Since, you know... The last time you draw her was 6 years ago...

BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It's funny because I vividly recall how back when I drew that update I was deep in a headspace of 'I have reached my artistic zenith, I simply do not have the time and energy to properly practice so this is as far as I can go" so there being noticable improvement is actually so comforting...let it be a lesson to us all that as long as you stick with something you will inevitably improve

AHA CUTE IDEA but they all know to keep their due respect and don't really get overly familiar! Kinda comes naturally when you feel very small in direct contact.
Guys remember Reddi, and also Erin and Warren (now renamed to Minte)? They're back in revamped form!
(left to right) Erin, Minte, Reddi, Sepia (Sepi initially) and Nene are all crafted experiments, made by a collection of scientists who got really really really freaked out about the environment and the state of humanity and thus decided to toss ethics out the window to make a few homunculi and equip them with skills and abilities suited for life on other planets. They were eventually overrun by a different group that was intent on freeing the experiments from their cruel environment - not knowing that most of them didn't mind the treatment and never even wanted to be freed. They were scattered (some taken and freed, some ran when the facility was burnt down) and are now roaming. Reddi is trying to have the facility rebuilt.

Erin: The first experiment they crafted. Her backstory is largely unchanged - the daughter of one of the scientists had died, so her skeleton was coated in metal and Erin was cloned around it with magnetism abilities. She was more of a first run with a simple goal (making her able to move consistently and relieably in different gravities). A sweet girl with a sadistic streak and fascination for pain and knives.
Minte: He, Reddi and Sepia came to life roughly around the same time. Minte is by far the most sensitive and kind of them all and thus the most affected by the horrors. As a healer, seeing the others regularly mangled affected him greatly, leading to him developing germaphobia, which was not helped by Sepia later toying with his mental state, driving him in an even worse state of trauma. Upon the overrun he left, now living reclusively and much happier all things considered, not wanting anything to do with the facility. He has an unspoken crush on Reddi.
Reddi: Originally conceived as a pair alongside Sepia, they were an exploration and info-gathering/archival unit, modelled somewhat after birds - the intent was that Sepia observes, records and archives, while Reddi explores, keeps a lookout and distracts potential enemies, drawing the eye while Sepia can sneak away with the info and run. As an exploration unit, he has enhanced physique (he's parcour-brained), and enhanced senses (so he sees a wider range of colours, hears and smells way more, and has a strong sense for barometric changes). This leads to him being in a constant state of overstimulation, which he is used to and is his default, but on occasion he wears sunglasses/goggles or headphones to unwind a bit. He had a falling out with Sepia, but as one half of a whole, one reason he wants to rebuild the facility is so they can make him a new work partner.
Sepia: Originally called Sepi, then Sepi-A when they were noticing she was a failed unit and were getting ready to make Sepi-B, and then Sepia when she reclaimed the A for herself - Reddi's other half. She has camera eyes and was in charge of observing, recording and archiving. They complement each other in many ways, for example Sepia can come off as unnerving due to her lack of movement while Reddi is the more jovial and friendly one to balance that out, Sepia has an excellent memory while Reddi's is quite shoddy, etc.
They had a falling out when Sepia was getting very restless in the facility. She got unbearably bored and heavily understimulated with her tasks of sitting still and observing, so she started fucking around on their tests and tasks for entertainment, which greatly annoyed Reddi, and later started manipulating Minte, making him paranoid and much worse than he already was. Since Reddi was closer with Minte than Sepia, he got very mad and essentially gave up on her, pushing for Sepi-B. This in turn angered Sepia, as she was pissed that Reddi didn't understand her need for some stimulation. She snuck out and left the facility one night. Reddi refuses to call her Sepia and still calls her Sepi, rejecting her reclamation of being Sepi-A.
Nene: full name Neo-One, Nene was the final experiment and a huge success for the facility, hence why she was their special princess and got a special name. She was the first one with much better energy retention (the others all had issues with that, hence all of them being compact and small), and was conceived as a soldier unit that can protect a settlement and face off against enemies. While still forced to do torturous tasks like the others, she loved all of it, enjoying using the full force of her body and abilities. However, one of the scientists eventually "freed" her, getting her out but dying in the process. They told her that she isn't the evil soldier the scientists want her to be, and that she can be kind and should run to live out her potential. This was very puzzling to Nene, who was already quite happy with where she was, but she felt bad ignoring their dying wish so she got up and left, trying to be a good person now. It's quite hard for her because she usually just wants to punch people in the face. Luckily, she ended up running into an angel called Eli (belongs to @scoochin) who 100% wants to get punched in the face all the time and has a healing factor, meaning he can take whatever Nene dishes out, and it's a mutual win for both of them.
The group is somewhat split - Reddi and Minte are best friends and reject Sepia, while Erin and Nene don't mind and like Sepia, though Nene especially is aware of her flaws and doesn't really want to be affected by them personally. Sepia meanwhile looks up to Nene and is heavily influenced by her, going so far as to develop a kind of schoolgirl crush on Eli since Nene likes(?) him and thus Sepia feels obligated to like him too.
While Reddi doesn't like Sepia, he gets along great with Erin and Nene, meanwhile Minte only really gets along with Reddi because he and the others cannot understand each other on a very fundamental level. He sees the treatment of the facility as appropriately horrible while the others cannot understand the problem - this extends to Reddi who is trying to grasp Minte's point of view, but it's simply an ideological split and cause of a distance between them, since Minte is horrified by the idea of Reddi wanting to rebuild.
Cursing my office job because I'm bouncing between refurnishing and redecorating my place, reading a book for the first time in forever, watching 6 anime, working on asksds, trying to get an OC group pic done so I can introduce them and also then talk about and sketch stuff with them, and also drawing stuff of my other OCs because ideas keep coming and also playing Fantasy Life i all in the few hours I have at night but I have to spend most of them recovering from the work day meaning I only get to do one of those things done per day if at all and thus all of them move at a glacial pace 😭 can't I just have infinite time and energy for at least a while please
