Sea Breeze Bazaar

A monthly mercantile event on the Balmung Server of FF14: ARR. We seek to cater towards and help facilitate economic roleplay and relations within our community, and provide a safe place for people to hawk their wares. If you have any questions place take a look at the various links on the sidebar to left. You do not need to contact us ahead of time! We welcome people to simply walk in and pick a spot for your stall.

All types of merchants are welcome! However, be aware that the area will be patrolled by Maelstrom officers, for those of you dealing in illegal goods.

As a merchant, you may advertise your stall in /yell once every 10-15 minutes, this is to ensure there is not too much spam and every stall gets the visibility it deserves!

Other roles:

As well as merchants, we also welcome people such as performers, guards, samaritans, town criers and more.

If you wish to undertake one of these roles, please contact the event leaders ahead of time. We will let you in on any details there may be!

Questionable antics and thievery is tolerated, so long as consent is sought and any consequences resulting from this are embraced.

During the event, both the event Organizers and people of Other Roles will be showing the Looking for Party sign.

Change of ownership.

The surge of support that poured in after my announcement earlier today almost brought me to tears, and I cannot even begin to thank all of you for being so kind and understanding. It does my heart well to know that people are being supportive of my choice, but also more so that I can announce so quickly that someone was willing to take up the reins.

@meandering-mind, who I sadly cannot tag, has offered to take up ownership of the bazaar and continue providing the event for everyone. Including taking ownership of this tumblr and the discord. When the next event will be held is entirely up to them and how they want to run it going forward, but I trust them immensely to provide an experience people will enjoy. 

Thank you guys once more for some of the most fun I’ve ever had in this game, and I hope that going forward that Maril will be able to bring you all even more joy than before.

A time for farewells.

I kinda didn’t want to announce this yet, but it seems I might as well address two problems at once. First the Sea Breeze Bazaar will not be happening this weekend, as those who have seen a lack of flyer will doubtlessly be able to surmise. My messages to the calendar didn’t seem to go through. Which given how hard they work isn’t that big of a deal, missed messages happen.

Secondly, and perhaps more seriously, I won’t be running this event anymore due to real life complications. I simply cannot handle the stress in my life at present and juggling such a massive event with my current anxieties is near impossible. Especially if I want to do small scale RP and other things on top of it. I wanted to wait another week to hopefully find someone in the circles I trust the most to take up the torch, but it seemed pointless to wait at present.

It’s been an amazing run and I’m so happy to have seen this event grow and become a staple of the community. I’m going to miss carving out time to sit down and host this event and I sincerely ask that anyone who is upset about this go and attend the other merchant events that have popped up since the SBB’s inception. All are run by really talented people and you could not ask for a better time.

Thank you for this past year and a half, it’s been amazing and a time I won’t soon forget.

The Watcher’s Eye Black Market

Whispers in the shadows speak of the black markets. No one ever knows where theses dealings are but so many trade their goods in secret. Not one specific person owns these markets though so many dark lords claim to hold that title. Even so, One voice rises to match those lords in waiting. The main auctioneer priding them self in their job while casting a shrouded gaze to the seas of darkly acquired wares. Such a sight can warm even the darkest of hearts when coin rains so freely.

What: Black Market Event ran by the Watcher’s Eye, a clandestine council of criminal. Come sell any illegal or lower then market value items free of government taxes. 

Where: The Coral Banquet Arena, The Ruby Sea (x31, y5). 

When: 17th of September, 9 P.M EST

Merchant Guidelines

We ask sellers to come early for stall placement so the organisers’s characters can  have you ‘pay’ for a stall (IC gil).

Turn your meld sign on if you are a a merchant so shoppers can see you.

Please use /yell  to announce your wares.

Please use party chat or whispers for actual selling to a individual for privacy and to help ooc with scroll. 

No prostitution or slaves please.

About the The Serpent’s Path: The Serpent’s Path is an independent crime syndicate based within Kugane, with operations stretching from Hingashi into their original home of Yanxia. Originally known as the Hakuuchi Clan, the originally Doman-based family fell into a period of internal strife and conflict upon being ejected from their old home and making tenuous footsteps into the Kugane Underworld, as well as conflict between two different Oyabuns. With the internal conflict strangely falling silent recently, the Syndicate has undergone a rapid change in priorities, and has now focused on a rapid expansion of operations within Othard, and some in the West. The Syndicate’s interests include black marketeering, racketeering, foreign trade, arms dealing, espionage, and hired hits. Open for recruitment starting next month!
