Im very embarrassed but I'll be honest with you. Despite the visual que of her speech bubbles being orange: I have always assumed Portia's hair was like, a very saturated honey blonde. And not.... straight up pumpkin. I only started to put it together after seeing the tiktok last week. 🙇‍♂️ i had my pink + blonde blinders on too tight

Haha well when I originally made her she was blonde! A honey blonde but she was also a hobbit 😂

I kinda slowly made her more ginger/I would call her a strawberry blonde as I wanted her to have a more eccentric look in modernity? So rather than a true red head or a blonde she’s got very orange hair she pairs with a VERY orange spray tan and loves wearing orange 😂 she’s just orange. She became ginger and he’s Asian now

^ did this in February? I need to draw them in color more often. Crazy to see the development. Edwin changed a lot too, personality and design wise. Their plot is completely different now too.

Forged Family

Carmine and Orrick take in Bevel and raise him together, he transitions during the time, and then 50 yrs later when he’s fully grown his parentals realize they’ve been courting in their own customs and finally take the leap into a romantic relationship.

Carmine was physically ~early/mid twenties so she’s like a super tight young aunt who has time to date while orrick is similar but would have waited for her another couple centuries :)

A dwarf and an elf raise a child together…

Orrick is a military strategist/weapon collector who heard of Master Bloodbrow’s fame and went to commission the dwarven smith only to fall head over heels for her. He immediately moved to the village so he could see her more often and keeps commissioning her as a means of flirting but it is kinda over both their heads. They become good friends/both equally infatuated when Carmine takes in Bevel and they raise the dwarven baby together.

Carmine and Orrick end up fighting together in an end of times situation, where Orrick got hailed for his leadership/strategy, and Carmine became infamous for her quick smithing, working around the clock to fix armor, make arms, etc all while caring for a baby on her back. Orrick and Carmine fully entered a sort of platonic partnership, neither fully grasping the other is interested.

Carmine is seen as a very in demand by dwarven beauty standards, she is a highly skilled craftsman, trained fighter, and has a beautiful thick beard. Orrick is a bad boy by the standard of sun elves, whos culture revolves around peacocking. He’s BEAUTIFUL, but he loves weaponry and has 1 chin hair which is diabolical. Carmine flirts by gifting orrick made gifts, while orrick flirts by buying things/showing off how groomed he has made himself for her, so she gets annoyed when he insists on buying clearly he doesn’t appreciate what she’s doing, and he gets annoyed because she must think he can’t AFFORD the work 😫.

Dwarven vs Elven flirting styles that cancel each other out until they realize 50 years later both have been flirting THIS WHOLE TIME.

The smiths at Bloodbrow forge. Carmine Bloodbrow and her apprentice/nephew Bevel Bronzebelly. Carmine is married to her forge, and has become a famous master smith, while bevel comes from a jeweler line, he wanted to be a knight, but was forbidden to do so. Eventually he used his skills as a jeweler and ladies man to ‘impress’ the ladies of the high courts until he found himself in the bed with a married woman and was banished and goes to his auntie for an apprenticeship. He’s lived with Carmine off and on over his whole life , as the youngest of 12 his parents sent him away for Carmine to raise until they’d call him back and he’d always go, seeking their love until he realizes he’s spent most of his life with auntie Carmine rather than his birth parents. Bevel takes a vow to be more virtuous and knightly and begins pursuing his dream of knighthood.

Carmine kinda refuses to acknowledge that she’s really Bevel’s parental figure, having decided to give up marriage, children, etc in pursuit of her work along with that fact that she took bevel in very young and raised him as a baby. They are technically cousins, woth bevels parent being her fathers sibling, buuuuut it don’t matter.

They leave home to search for their family member, Whiskey Grey, an eccentric monster hunter who is missing.
