A smile worms its way onto her lips as she finally sits up, stretching her arms out far in front of her until her shoulders cracked. “And Ali--” she rolls her neck, meeting his gaze now, “They sky has fallen.” The Champion reminds him of this with a little bit of sullenness at the reminder.

the answer she gives him is all of a slight shrug. it’s been a long time since she’s talked to someone beyond the terms of a job – and even longer since someone has been so quick of wit. she can’t help the ghost of a smirk that pulls up one of the corners of her mouth.

no doubt the little band of mercenaries are long gone, their already ruined hideout all the more in disrepair. odds are he’d never heard of the witchers, and that was fine. the question he poses, ciri thinks, is not just one of casual small talk, but in case it is, she floats her next comment casually, like an afterthought, before taking a sip of her lager. “i wouldn’t mind it again – tougher jobs means more caps.”

He gives a noncommittal hum as a paved road to thinking of a reply. “Never been, don’t plan on going unless there’s caps to be had there.” He answers with a little wave of his hand. “Also can’t say I’m familiar with that group either, sadly--” he shrugged, leaning into his seat’s arm rest.

(he likes that she caught onto what he was suggesting though, made beating around the bush a lil easier.)

“Tougher jobs means you need two sets of eyes” he adds, swirling what was left in his own glass. “Or at least someone to watch from afar... have I mentioned I’m a damn good sniper, Miss Ciri?” he intones over the rim of his glass before taking another sip.

a list of antisemitic dog-whistles and jokes. tldr; goyim stop laughing at these things

chag sameach and shabbat shalom!! i thought i would compile a list of dog-whistles (which are best described as “code-words” in politics) for my goyim followers/mutuals, because, while i know most of you are not ill-intended, seeing them on my dash still hurts and as such i thought it would be a good time to educate!! please be aware of the things before you post them, especially during big holidays like pesach.

LIZARD JOKES AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES: point blank this is the easiest identifiable form of modern antisemitism that so many of you igore/aren’t aware of. the “lizard people” joke stems from antisemitic and racist conspiracy theorist david icke, who argues that the world is run by a secret cabal of alien lizard people, many of whom are jewish. he’s fond of accusing famous jewish families of being lizards. remember when everyone got a chuckle out of mark zuckerburg being a lizard robot person because he’s haha funee emotionless? it’s because he grew up jewish. remember when jack black made his youtube channel and his entire comment section was flooded with lizard jokes about him and his kid? they’re both jewish. the very core of conspiracy theories themselves are built on the foundation of the elders of zion, a fabricated antisemitic text purporting to describe a jewish plan for global domination. do you see what i’m getting at here? when you, a goy, reblog relatable memez about a character from a piece of media calling themselves any variation of a lizard and tag is as “hehe mecore,” you’re contributing to antisemitism and its corresponding dog whistles. when you create flat earth meta or have entire discord servers dedicated to the moon landing being faked, you’re contributing to antisemitism and its corresponding dog whistles. if you truly want to be a good ally, especially to your jewish followers, remember this information before you subject us to antisemitism. 

BLOOD LIBEL: blood libel is also very prevalent in modern culture, however it’s not as easily identifiable as it’s not so popularly known to goyim (especially in america). blood libel is the “accusation that Jewish people used the blood of christian children in religious rituals.” the best way i can sum up blood libel in pop culture is hayao miyazaki/studio ghibli’s film “spirited away,” in which a haggard, big-nosed witch kidnaps children (in haku’s terms specifically, light-eyed children) and controls them by stripping them of their memories of their past life, including the knowledge of their names and their families. another one is tangled, in which case i’ll just link this post as it goes into really specific, very great detail. now, i love a good ghibli and disney film like the rest of you, and i’m not saying you have to completely stop watching them, but what i am saying is that understanding blood libel to its core helps you better identify antisemitic creators. 

THE ILLUMINATI/NEW WORLD ORDER: the original illuminati was coined in the 1700′s as a secret society in germany, which later became the topic of fascist propaganda in the early 20th century. the myth claimed that the illuminati was a subversive secret society controlled by nameless “jewish elites” who supposedly propped up capitalism and communism, among other things. while the modern version of the illuminati is inherently harmless and actually just pretty fucking ridiculous, the place it stems from teeters into dangerous waters. the whole idea that society is run by shadowy, upper-class jews has antisemitism written all over it.

now, these are just dog-whistles that scrape the surface. there are so many more, and not just against jewish people. the point of this post is to highlight the fact that tumblr (and specifically young white teens on tumblr) are in love with the idea that vampires are real and the 17th century is the best time period and aliens are controlling our DNA or whatever. in thinking and participating all this, you’re spreading false, antisemitic rhetoric that goes completely beyond aliens building the notre dame and delves into dangerous, hurtful territory. i don’t know about anyone else on jewblr, but i’m tired of seeing the lizard jokes and the conspiracy theories and the fucking pepes. we give so much and yet we’re blamed for things so often and given so little in return. i know you can do better.

Rim scoffed a little bit at the never meant to be used comments. She honestly couldn’t help herself. “Careful, you are starting to sound like Solas, Lady Velawen.” Rim tuts gingerly, folding her pencil away into her notebook once more.

(oh if her eyes could roll further, they might just pop out of her head.)

“Fortunately for you I’ve found there are fare greater uses for blood than nefarious purposes.” she replies languidly, flipping through her notebook to show Velawen sketches of the disk structures she’s seen within droplets of blood. “Magic can be seen too, given the correct lighting and circumstances” she adds lazily.

“They’re good shoulders,” he says with a small grin, and it’s teasing, sure, but he’s earnest.

Keyleth’s stammering softens the edge from his grin, brows lifting as he lets her work her words out, though when she opts to call him heroic, his stomach tilts, fingertips seeking the jagged scar now hidden beneath his borrowed shirt. Heroic doesn’t sound right, but he doesn’t combat it, simply smiles a touch helplessly. He wants to remember who he helped. He needs to remember them, feels it with a muted, cloying desperation in the pit of his gut. Molly drags himself out of his stupor and nods, taking her proffered arm.

“That so?” he asks, glad for the pivot in conversation. Focusing on Keyleth is easier than focusing on the blockages in his head. He takes her arm gratefully, careful not to bear too much of his weight on her out of politeness alone. “How do I know you’re not a, uh. A deity of some kind? Giving company to the newly resurrected and whatnot?”

Molly flashes her a rakish grin. His knees and thighs still feel a little wobbly, not unlike a newborn calf as he tries to keep stride with her, careful and neat as possible.

“Tal’Dorei?” he muses, lifting his chin. “Never heard of it. That the village you’re from?”

“Me?” it’s incredulous, and him even suggesting she could be a god is enough for her to misstep and almost take them both to the packed earth of the well walked road. “No- No.” she shakes her head a bit as she regains her balance and some of her lost composure. “I suppose I couldn’t convince you otherwise, but.... seeking godhood doesn’t seem to work out well to me, historically.” she clears her throat, pace slowing for Molly now.

(all she can see is vecna killing vex in one blow, vax disintegrating. who knew being a god made you hate so much?)

“Village?” the then asks, smile worming its way onto her lips, thinking it is another joke. Then she can see it isn’t. “Oh perhaps you know it as Gwessar?” Keyleth intoned. “It... is a continent.” she explains, worrying perhaps she hadn’t brought back the entirety of the man. “There was... a big... attack about two decades ago, all it’s known for now.” she attempts to dismiss.
