greetings ! you may call me selkie and/or puffin, and I make trinkets. ♡ this is a sideblog dedicated to my trinket crafting & other trinket-related adventures.

what beads do you use / where do you buy them ?

I mostly buy my beads from local craft stores and occasionally from online sellers. these are usually from Michael's, by strand or bag.

what do you make trinkets for ?

I started my trinket journey helping my sister make bracelets for a tay.lor sw.ift concert, but now I made bracelets, keychains, and charms to give out at renaissance faires (I am a certified trinket trader), conventions, pride events, amusement parks, and in general !

where are you based ?

I currently live in Arkansas. I will typically post about any events I'm attending and what I'm bringing with me ! if you ever want to meet up to trade at an event I am going to just shoot me a DM !

can you make me a trinket ?

yes ! I am happy to make trinkets for folks, and would love to do so, however I will accept these kinds of requests on a case by case basis, mostly depending on where I'm shipping to.

but, in general, I am open to making and sending trinkets to folks who are comfy providing their address. we can discuss what you want it to say (if anything), the vibes, theme, color, etc and I'll do my best to make you something with what I have !

basic info for requests: you must provide an address. limit of 1 or 2 trinkets (1 big one or 2 smaller ones), bigger requests I may ask you to contribute to shipping. turnaround can be anywhere from a few days to several months depending on how busy I am. I am okay with using 18+ and mature themes or phrases in requested trinkets, but I refuse to make trinkets referencing hateful or self-destructive themes.

can you make necklaces / phone charms / bracelet stacks / something else ?

I don't know, probably ? I'm willing to try. if you can give me a reference I'll do my best !

down to the final 11 trinkets ! feeling kinda burnt out / frustrated / overwhelmed tbh. like I've gotten to the point where I no longer like the trinkets I've made ? they're not good enough :c they feel basic and generic and stupid

I also still need to pack ; ; like I just keep telling myself its okay and I'll figure it out. but I also feel bad cuz I'm not really excited about the trip tbh

I love giving trinkets to the actors on Rise of the Resistance. its fun seeing them react in character. the first time I gave it to our interrogator and he stopped for like 5 seconds before accusing me of trying to bribe him, said he would accept no bribes, and then pointedly stuffed the bracelet in his pocket in front of everyone. I like to think I made his day lol

saw this beading technique and decided to try it out cuz I like using 2 strands. turned out super cute ! may have to keep this one for myself tbh

either way, always fun to find new ways to elevate my trinket game ♡

I forgot to post my outfit and the trinkets I made 😅 made a total of 17 and was able to give out 15 today ! had a really great day today, was happy to be able to give out so many ♡ and got lots of compliments both on my outfit and my trinkets.

I realize I don't have a following to promote this to but ! still. I will be at the Arkansas Renaissance Festival this upcoming sunday (August 31st) and will have trinkets to give out ♡

I will (hopefully) have both bracelets and keychains, but will likely have a limited quantity (unless I get bitten by the inspo / energy bug). I've only made a few as of this post and I don't know how many I'll be able to make.

I'll be sure to post what I do make before then (check the "ye olde trinkets" tag) and if you'll be there + see something you like ask and I'll save it for you ! I'll also post my outfit that day so you know who to look for (or give me a time / location and we can meet up).

I'll also take small requests if you know you'll be there ! small as in you can give me a phrase or theme and I'll do my best. or, in general, if you have ideas for phrases and/or themes I could make trinkets of I'm all ears !

decided to make some jewelry to wear with my gummy bear shirt by @mayakern !! really happy with how they turned out ♡ this is my new favorite shirt and now I have the foundations of a cute outfit to go with it !

decided to make a KPDH keychain ♡

inspired by one of my favorite lines from the movie. top is meant to be rumi / zoey / mira in their final outfits, tiger line is meant to look like derpy while the bird line is meant to look like sussy, and both have a rainbow bead at the bottom for the prismatic honmoon

think I'm going to make bracelets for How it's Done and Your Idol if I can find beads I like
