My favourite shade of the sea is not when it’s under the bright daylight, nor when the sun uses it as a mirror first thing in the morning before it goes to handle and give hope to people who have forgotten about tomorrows. It’s when after the storm has passed by, when it’s grey and black. When the wind is too harsh, and the waves are the colour of lead. It’s when I lost you. The ocean seemed to comply with was happening with the time of my life then and it accompanied me with grief. When it’s grey or it’s some beautiful shade of blue, it gives me hope that you might return with it. Now, whenever I’m near salt water, I wait for you to come back. Because the ocean can change shades of blue, and maybe when the moon tries to kiss the waters, you’ll come back to me.
