Since my teenage years, all I ever fantasized about was creating college memories with amazing friends and whirlwind romances. Never in my wildest imagination did I think my college journey would be this phenomenal (cue the sarcastic eye-roll).
It all started with my enthusiasm towards participating in the dodgeball
tournament. I mean, how hard could it be to dodge a ball, right? The first
round went great, the team somehow made it into second round.
Cue my competitive spirit, the next moment, I went from dodgeball master to
floor-hugging disaster. Just as I stepped away from what felt like a huge throw,
I executed a move that would make even professional dancers proud…if they
enjoyed twisting their ankles in ways nature never intended.
Surprisingly, the pain wasn’t too bad—I'd rate it a solid 3 out of 10. My
batchmates, on the other hand, gathered around with their ‘expert’ advices,
ranging form “just run a lap you’ll be good to go”, “try twisting it in another
direction it would be fun!” Spoiler Alert it wasn’t.
Now that’s when my life realised how boring things had been lately and the
doctors decided to join in, giving me the news: Surgery. That’s right, my one-
time decision of trying new things out earned me a spot in the operating room.
Well, no big deal, I was wheeled out like a VIP, with my friends filming the
whole thing like I was the star of a reality show called "When Dodgeball Goes
Wrong." As I was gracefully (or not), loaded in the ambulance while my friends
being captured every moment of my ‘hilarious’ injury.
Though the incident checked off a box on my bucket list, it also gave me an
unforgettable story—complete with a bonus surgery.
