he still has no clue how to handle having a daughter, or what the standard is, but he’s fairly certain daughters don’t normally come  home with blood on them.  that seems like the kind of thing alexander would have mentioned about his own daughter.  john stares at frances, eyes a little wide, reaction a little delayed.
