Some things that stuck with me from 138. Sebastian has a solid human form, or rather, human face. While he was allowing Ciel to “choose”, notice that his face (and mostly stature) does not change. I think this sheds light on when people thought he purposefully took after Vincent. 

Another is his rashness. Sebastian had one goal and one goal only; to claim Ciel’s soul. The way he offered the three wishes and quickly started to go find and kill those from Ciel’s past tells me that is how he usually deals with contracts. That and his all around impatience this chapter brings me to this: Ciel is the longest contractee Sebastian has had. 

Sebastian was obviously used to lying to his past masters to get what he wanted (because devil) and so he was probably able to consume souls very easily and quickly.

Until he met his match in a tiny, beat up, 10 year old boy.

I have a whole new appreciation for their character development. Sebastian over the years has grown so fond of Ciel and has stated time and time again that this is his favorite occupation yet. 

And he gets to fuck his master? What a fine deal.

Yess!! I totally agree, his urge to carry on with the 3 wishes quickly says a lot about him and how different the contract with Ciel is.

Also, I too loved that even back then when he was more of an asshole (not that he isn’t nowadays, but he’s less of an asshole due to being under Ciel’s control most of the time), he appreaciates the challenge Ciel presents him with 

and this tiny boy’s intelligence

So yes, he indeed met his match right here!
