And yes. I 100% believe that mclennon was real once upon a time💔💔 the first time I actually got invested in them was cause I watched like a 1 hour long video of someone talking about them and I instantly took it as "yep, these guys were gay for eachother but since it was the 60s and they both weren't emotionally mature in a way, it didn't really stick forever"
Like the longing looks, the quotes of literally everyone saying how they were so close to eachother and how John never stopped talking about Paul even when they were apart.. fuck man..
So you can imagine my surprise when I saw ppl that DIDNT believe in mclennon??? Like they're just brushing it off as some weird rpf thing that the fans made up,, trust if they watched one video about all the mclennon proof they'd change their minds 🥀🥀

HI SORRY IVE TAKEN LIKE 5 EVER TO REPLY TO THIS LOL i have been SO busy but ive finished my school leavers day and most of my art fight references are prepped so I should have more time now!! ANYWAYS it breaks my heart but at the same time I LOVE picking through all the ways each beatle reacted to the disbanding, I genuinely find it so interesting how each of them dealt with it, in both positive and negative ways.
Like for George, he was SO damn happy to disband, that mf physically ran to go sign the papers (that clip fucking kills me every time I love George) and for that reason I think he found it easier to adapt post breakup, since he’d been more than ready to start a solo career for years (shoutout to the legendary album all things must pass)
Whereas for Paul, I think it was alot more difficult to leave the Beatles because the beatles had been a huge part of his identity and he really believed in the band’s potential to do more, to do better, eeven after already achieving so much. I also feel like he sort of tried to take on the role that Brian had before his death and from that point on the “leadership” of the band shifted a little from John leaning to Paul leaning. That being said I also think he dealt with the aftermath pretty well, he had Linda to rely on (WE LOVE EVERY BEATLE GIRL HERE ESPECIALLY LINDA <33) and wings was formed which I think helped alot.
unfortunately i also don’t think Paul was as down bad for John as john was for paul, or atleast he was alot better practiced at keeping his emotions internalised (potentially a childhood thing??? Idk)
because although John wanted to leave the band more than Paul, atleast initially he did not deal with the disbandment well lol. I think later on towards the end of his life things were really finally turning around for him and he was healing, it just sucks that we didn’t get to see him get better, emotionally, from a song writing pov, improve his relationship with Paul, and even what he would go on to use his platform to do. (I am CONVINCED that we would have come out as bi at some point and donated a fuck ton of money to queer charities)
