Hey!!! I just discovered your blog like two minutes ago I feel like I've hit the jackpot with your Art. It's so beautiful your works of color are brilliant!
I was wondering for when you draw bodies/anatomy is there a certain pattern you follow to get the proportions correct or is it just by memory? For example, some use the loomis method as a guide to draw faces while others just let it flow and get straight to the lineart. How do you do that, and did you have to study all the body parts to learn it? Do you often use references for anatomy or does it come to you naturally?
I hope these questions aren't too much, just an artist looking for improvement. Thanks for posting! 💖
Hi OHMYGOD thank you SO MUCH 😭😭
I’ve never had someone ask me for advice but here we go
Honestly, it really depends on whether I use a reference or not. For the heads/facial proportions I would say a “simplified loomis method” is the way to go, really just a circle and a line tbh.
And for anatomy, the line of action is EVERYTHING!!! No you don’t have to study every individual body part to achieve a fluid pose, I suggest practicing with references of marble statues. Usually the body is very dynamic in these sculptures, so yeah!
Sometimes it comes naturally and sometimes It doesn’t, but regardless you should ALWAYS use a reference no matter what!
Thank you for following<3 genuinely so sweet of you :)
