Singapore, although home to a dense population of 5.7 million inhabitants within an area of 719.9 kilometre squares, a concrete jungle with crowding towers and skyscrapers - its lush nature is still apparent as one cruises through promenades after promenades covered in blooming shrubs and arching trees, nestled comfortably between the rapid industrialisation. The interweaving of modernisation and nature diminishes the derivative character often felt in developed cities, serving as a respite for its visitors, but still intensely radiating with the vibrant, fast-paced energy of the Lion City.
Stepping into Cloud Forest, I was welcomed by sight of a waterfall, standing majestically at 35m tall, followed by a misty breeze gently gesturing across my face. It was definitely a sight to behold, one I’ll never forget as I stroll through the multi-layered oasis rich with rainforest and blossoming flora.
