🔮 - Have you imagined what happens to [character(s)] in the future? Or does the story only exist to you as a moment in time?
I've… okay, you got me. I have seriously thought about doing a riff on Language Mapping from Vel's perspective that extends a little bit further out into the future. I've never actually put anything down, but I do have thoughts about how it would go and what the hinge points of the slow burn are for her, because some of them are not the same as Kleya'sOn the other hand, you know, if the Yurt ever does any, like author swap gift exchange-type things, Language Mapping is fully something I would be happy to give someone else the keys to and be like, "Take Kleya's side as just one perspective and go nuts writing Vel's POV of this scene on Sullust or w/e."
🙏 - Was there anything your character(s) really really really wanted to do? Did you let them?
Boring answer, but I think they were pretty well behaved in my memory. I think the closest is that they really, really wanted to talk Alliance strategy on Hoth, lol. My initial thought there was that it was gonna be much more about how cute and good and cute Vel was with animals, and talking about Tauntauns would be a way of the two of them talking around their feelings about themselves/each other. But that scene never quite materialized that way.
🔎 - What detail(s) in the story are you particularly captivated with? Is there any behind the scenes info or backstory?
Oh gosh. Uhm… BTS or backstory… You know, one thing I really enjoyed reading, and that helped with Kleya's, like, job within the rebellion in the story was this post by The Angry Staff Officer that's a fake Alliance logistics officer's letter home. It's a really fun read and def helped inform a lot of the stuff about Kleya's team and work, which I'm proud of!
🧭 - What was the key choice or decision you had to make for this story? If you had chosen differently, what would the story have turned into?
I think the thing that guided it was that it would go SLOW. They'd be apart for long stretches. They would not be roommates after Yavin. Their relationship would not begin until after the decisive battle of the war. Everything kind of flows from that pacing choice. If I had chosen differently? Lol, it would be So Little Is A Stone.
