Genuine question: is anyone making an actual effort to preserve or archive humanity's digital history? Like when the YouTube servers go down, are we going to lose billions of culturally significant videos?

Will historians 500 years from now only have our published physical media to go off of because all of our videos were compressed to the point that they aren't playable on the platforms/devices they'll be using? Will they just be like, "Thanks to this thing called 'booktok,' we can see a huge rise in literature involving human x fantasy monster relationships, but we're not sure why because the TikTok servers no longer exist."

Will future generations get to see our brainrot, or will they just see the fact that we're brainrotted?
