you can never go back. this is your one life. you had a bad childhood and that's it. you lost your teen years to mental illness and that's it. you're miserable in your 20s and that's it. you just go forward

For the record, these used to say “due to the October 1st government shutdown, we are unable to guarantee all information is up to date”.
Honestly this is terrifying. These are health and safety websites. They aren’t for propaganda. Also, the sudden *lack of warning of potential inaccuracy these banners were originally for* is also really not good
we are so boned
These are going to be in history books of the future.
This is turbo illegal too.
i love the concept of sleeveless turtlenecks. suns out guns out. except. it is a little bit chilly. my neck is a little bit chilly

Okay so bad news for everyone on YouTube right now
Starting the 13th, we will have an AI determine if we are children or not and if you are a child, than you are forced to send your ID, send a selfie or a credit card
This has the obvious cons of having your privacy being revoked from you and and in case there is a security breach, major identity thefts.
So what do we do in this scenario?
Well right now I have real idea as this is relativity new to me, but I do have two plans
Plan 1. Bug the shit out of them, send letters and send emails about how much of bad idea this is.
Include why the AI will mess up and target adults who watch cartoons, include privacy issues, censorship issues, anything you can think of that relates to this. I want you guys to bug the hell out of YouTube until they reverse this idea
Plan 2. Blackout.
Since the thing is coming out on the 13th.
The plan will be to completely avoid YouTube at all cost for that day, no watching, no sharing, no uploading, no nothing.
Download videos before things go down, watch Netflix. Whatever you do, don’t touch YouTube.
That’s all I can say right now, I also want you guys to let YouTubers know of this situation cause if it’s important for everyone on the website to talk about this immediately
Spread this stuff around, let people know of YouTube’s upcoming policy and how it’ll hurt everyone

HSI/ICE vs. hungry Mexican restaurant customers - WHO YA GOT?
"Did you not realize what this would be, being f*cking Gestapo, being Nazis? You didn't realize what this would be like. You should quit! Quit now, quit! Now, you Nazi f*ck. Quit your job. It's gonna be like this every f*cking day you're coming. Every day, anytime you try to kidnap people, we are gonna be here!” A rapid responder yelled at fleeing ICE agents in Kansas.
As ICE and HSI raided two El Toro Loco locations in Lenexa and Kansas City, Kansas on Wednesday, rapid responders mobilized to both locations. In Lenexa, they chased HSI out of the restaurant, documenting on video the agents’ faces, vehicles, failure to show a warrant, and more.

We are heartbroken to share the tragic news of the death of Jonathan Joss—beloved actor, artist, and gay icon—who was fatally shot on June 1, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was 59 years old. Authorities are investigating the possibility of a hate crime.
Jonathan, of Comanche and White Mountain Apache heritage, rose to fame as the voice of John Redcorn on King of the Hill and appeared in acclaimed films such as The Magnificent Seven and True Grit. Beyond his screen work, he was a tireless advocate for Native sovereignty, queer visibility, and authentic representation.
In recent years, Jonathan came out publicly as a gay man and remained fiercely proud of both his Indigenous and queer identities. He is survived by his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, with whom he shared a life rooted in love, art, and community.
Jonathan’s legacy is one of courage, truth, and unapologetic presence. His impact on two-spirit and LGBTQ+ Indigenous youth—and on all of us who saw ourselves in his work—cannot be overstated.
We mourn his loss. We honor his voice. We demand justice. Rest in power, Jonathan Joss. You are remembered. You are loved.
In an executive order, President Trump directs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to stop funding NPR and PBS, the nation's primary pub
…Not good. (And not legal, if I read the situation correctly.) 😡
Really bad 😥
48% of my station's budget comes from federal funding. There are stations more rural than ours who depend on the government even more.
This isn't just a luxury- in some areas, PBS and NPR are among the only broadcast channels that people even get. They're a vital source of news, educational content, and entertainment for rural populations. More importantly, they are essential parts of the Emergency Alert System, which is one of the few ways to warn people about dangerous weather or other local disasters.
They're important in cities, too. PBS KIDS programming has high standards that other networks lack. In fact, the majority of kids shows on our channel nowadays actually have a child psychologist on staff to advise how to handle certain topics. Numerous studies indicate that PBS KIDS programming can significantly improve a child's reading, math, and phonics skills. PBS stations also have considerable public outreach programs (mine gives away free school supplies and free haircuts to as many kids as possible every year, among other free events), and PBS stations are by and large the creators and curators of documentaries and content about local areas whose history might not otherwise be preserved.
Conservatives have had public media in their crosshairs for a long time, and we have all been gearing up for a fight in Congress since the election. They're not only targeting future funding here, but trying to revoke funds that have already been approved.
This executive order certainly isn't legal, but we all know that won't stop him. This will be fought through the courts. In the meantime, please sign the Protect My Public Media petition, call your representatives and urge them to support public broadcasting, and if you can spare the money, consider donating to your local PBS station.
Passport, the PBS streaming service, is only $5 a month (which goes directly towards your local station) and provides you with our entire library of really high quality educational television (that's still entertaining!) AS WELL AS all of our kids programming. That is MUCH cheaper than other streaming services and you know the money is going towards a good cause.
If you live in a big city or a left-leaning area, consider donating to a rural station or somewhere smaller, as they will likely be hit harder by this. But really, any donation to any station is helpful.
Support public media! Don't let the far right silence journalists just because they don't like what we report!
Job cuts and frozen funding could inch one of the world’s rarest species even closer to extinction.
DOGE just froze funding to vital Federal and Indigenous conservation programs devoted to supporting the very delicate and tenuous existence of the black-footed ferret.
I fell in love with these animals as a kid traveling to our National Parks. Their rarity and ferocity made me sharply aware, even as a child, of just how much of a responsibility we have toward our environment. I can't bear the thought of them being a fucking casualty of Trump and Musk.
Look at them! They do war dances.
Okay I don't want to end this on doom and gloom, so I'm also going to add that the Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance was one of the indigenous-lead organizations who were supposed to receive a $1.1 million dollar grant that has since been frozen. But they do have a website and they do accept donations.
They are currently doing an emergency fundraiser!! Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance (BNGA) is raising $50,000 in emergency funds to support Tribal efforts to recover black-footed ferrets
Native American Tribes manage 14% of all remaining black-footed ferrets in the wild. Freezes of federal funding are jeopardizing their conse

You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.
I am not exaggerating.
As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.
This is not a drill.
Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.
Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).
Find your representatives. Learn how to find and connect with them. Stay informed about their bills, committees, and contributions.
"Hello, my name is _______ and I am a constituent from _______. My address is ________.
I am reaching out today to urge Representative ______ to call for the impeachment of President Trump due to his refusal to comply with the Supreme Court's April 10th decision regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was unlawfully deported and has been charged with no crime. As Justice Sotomayor stated, this inaction implies the government's ability to 'deport and incarcerate any person, including U.S. citizens, without legal consequence, so long as it does so before a court can intervene.' This precedent is unconstitutional, highly illegal, and grounds for impeachment. Every individual, regardless of immigration status, must be guaranteed a right to due process.
Representative _____, I urge you to stand on the right side of history today by calling for President Trump's impeachment. This administration can not be allowed to continue unilaterally defying the checks and balances that are intrinsic to our government."
You can also find your representative and senators and their phone numbers on https://5calls.org/
Please don't be afraid of calling. Your job would just be to be a data point, not to sound perfect. Here's some info on why calling is effective.
