“It wasn’t like a real kiss, don’t worry, I wasn’t making out with your brother.” Peyton laughed as she did her best to find her footing. The whole room was spinning, and if anyone handed her another drink she was sure she would throw it up. “Wait, AJ? No, no, no, no, no, no. I can’t be alone in a room with AJ. And Rose is not going to stop that.” She reached out for a nearby piece of furniture to stop her from walking any farther with Sedona.

“What constitutes a real kiss? Did your mouths collide or not? And if so ewwww times twenty.” Her nose scrunched up in distaste. “What’s wrong with AJ? You know, besides the obvious.” The fear in Peyton’s voice was cause enough for Sedona to worry. Her features hardened in genuine concern. Her grip tightened, not roughly but to the degree that would keep the brunette upright. “What’s happened? Has he hurt you?” Though she needn’t ask in order to put two-and-two together. “Peyton....you didn’t.”

Wyatt, not knowing what to say or do, was stuck in place, a confused expression on his features until the girl snapped. “Uh, yeah, sure,” he mumbled, quickening his pace to please her. “But I mean, if anything is going to offend you I might as well stay back because I’m not the smoothest talker and you’re kind of… shit, never mind.”

“... No. Go on. Finish your sentence.” She halted all movement. “I’m....” Brows raised, index finger raised in gesture for him to go on. “Neurotic? Loud? I’ve heard it all, dude.” Sedona was genuinely curious at this point.
