First Big Surgery... God is Always Watching Over Us... Blessings

So.... December 7,2016 I had a sharp lower right pain around 6:30 p.m. after I was eating my work’s holiday dinner.... maybe first sign was the food :p I thought nothing because I’ve had pain down there before and maybe my bowels just have to pass some things... : ]

That night, couldn’t sleep at all... morning time my boyfriend took the car and I called in sick even though I was debating to go to work and just fight instead of flight... but something in me and my bf saying just call in made me text my boss...

I took a 2 hour nap with my doggie and the pain was still there.... I told myself if this happened I would call the doctor to see if they could fit me in on December 8.

Side note... I thought about my appendix since one of my old friends had his taken out and almost DIED!! Me, paranoia girl thought it could be that!! 

Side note note.... December 8 a winter storm watch was coming into PDX!

So I called doctor and got one of the last appointments in the morning because of the storm they weren’t taking people just in case they have to close... (blessing 1) 

My boyfriend’s mother was able to come get me, since bf took car (blessing 2) We went to Adventist Health Parkrose clinic. Saw a Family Nurse Practitioner aka FNP. The FNP asked some questions and laid me lay on the bed... FNP touched my stomach area and in a screech pain as pushing down on my right side. So next thing I know I’m at Adventist Health Hospital - PDX for a CT Scan.... first one ever.

Side note... the FNP wanted to get me a CT Scan as cautionary because it wasn’t defiant that I had an appendicitis and because of the storm I was on a wait and hold for CT Scan since patients cancelled appointments from storm (blessing 3)

Received CT Scan and yep... appendix perforated.... went straight to the ER to get prepped for surgery.... yikes!

Waited in ER for 3 hours till the best General Surgeon... who I know... did my surgery... 

I had an open surgery so recovery time will be longer but all the nurses, CNAs, FNP, and doctors who helped me were great! (blessing 4)

All the people who were working on me said prayers and knew I would be okay (blessing 5)

To end.... if you feel sharp pain on your lower right side see if it’s your appendix and even if your hurting other areas better safe than sorry to see doctor!

I was so very blessed through my experience because it could have been worse if I waited.

God intervened just in time!!!

I forget about this a lot.. I try to share with others but when it comes to me I over analyze, over think, worry, and so on. Then after I think about things or I find another way I think that I just need to trust God. He is always there for me. I just need to take a step back and a deep breath and let God work. I need to do what I say to others. Trust in God. He will never let us down.

From my devotion today 3/8/15 | Are you hurting physically? Do you have pain that rarely subsides? It's easy to focus on the pain and question where is God and why hasn't He healed you yet. Don't let the pain speak louder than God's love for you. He loves you very much. This pain you bear can have meaning by bringing glory to God. Be courageous today, don't concentrate on the pain, instead be bold in your patience for the Lord.

Always Remember December 7, 1941 "a date that will live in infamy" ~FDR | It is amazing how it has been about 70 years later and as I look and stand on the monument it hits me.... I wasn't there but I feel sad... Death is just a part of life but just know that one day God will be coming back to take us away from this earth to a brand new one where there won't be pain or suffering but always HAPPINESS! We should never forget the pass but embrace it and live for the present and future in whatever way we can!

Someone is and has been pursuing you your entire life even before you were born He knew you! :) Sometimes we feel like no one is even with us... but we have to remember that we are not alone... we might feel that way but someone is always pursuing and watching over us! And that is a good feeling! Just Stop.Kneel or Stand.&PRAY or possibly read a devotion :D But we are NEVER alone.

French Fries and a pop is my go to food while I await my boarding time at 6:15 p.m. to Honolulu, HI. I am excited for another solo adventure! I can't wait to see Holly Hunt and the beauty of Hawaii! I do miss my doggie Charlie but my mom has been sending great pics/videos! :) Sometimes I wish I had someone to travel with but traveling alone makes people become more responsible and independent.

Flying

Now, don't get me wrong I love traveling! Since I traveled to Argentina I have had an itch to fly and travel!!! One, it is the fastest way to get around the world, two, you can sleep, and three free snacks!! But I do have a fear of the plane not landing... Then I would never see or say anything to my friends and family again.... I know that a plane is the safest mode of transportation! But I'm human and fear is within me... But I know God is with me always! I shall not be afraid! I shall just be bored!! :)
