Wow!! He looks VERY accurate to how he appears as in the show, in this! 😯

This looks SO high quality! You really nailed everything on him! Even that black background fits his bad mood.

I have to also point out that that bright lighting on his face going up to his hair, looks like there's actual sunlight on him.

I forgot what scene in the show this came from, but he looks amazing!! I love him! 💚

I know there’s a lot of debate on who makes the better dad, But honestly I think it’s a team effort. Both of them bring a unique perspective that Jim can relate to and need in his life, and I’m so here for it.

Also Blinky and Sticklers dynamic is so much fun.

To the writers and artists who want nothing more than to share their passion, but are simply out of fuel:

the souls who know the exhausting, daily calculation of having to choose between creating (writing that next paragraph, sketching that line art) or socializing (replying to comments, checking in on friends, participating in the community). There is rarely enough energy for both.

the souls who want desperately to reblog, comment, or hype up fellow creative souls, but looking at a screen feels like lifting weights.

the souls who feel like a "ghost" in your own fandom spaces. You love the community and want to support it, but pain flare-ups, burnout, and profound fatigue mean your presence is limited to quiet lurking.

the soul who know that while creating feeds your soul, it also drains your physical battery, leaving you with absolutely nothing left for the social interactions that keep community ties alive.

your worth as a creator or a community member isn't measured by your output or your activity feed. Taking care of your body and mind comes first, always. Your stories, your art, and your love for your comfort characters aren't going anywhere.

Its time to get excited once again for Stricklake month!!

As I've been doing for the past two years, I'm hosting Stricklake month. I'm releasing the prompts a month in advance for people to have time to prep their prompts and for new people to decide if they want to take part. The event will run for the entire duration of August.

Prompts for this year are as follows:

Week one: Time loop/Interdimensional (1st-7th August)

Week two: Accident/Choice (8th-14th August)

Week three: Resurrection/After life (15th-21st August)

Week four: Crime/Innocent (22nd-28th August)

Final roundup: (29th-31st August)

For those new to Stricklake month, take a look at last years final roundup to get a idea of what people have done for the month, HERE. All mediums are welcome, as long as the main focus remains on the relationship between Barbara Lake/Walter Strickler. Like last year, Jim is free to make guest appearances as part of the knife family, so you can indulge in all the family fluff (Jimbo loves to photobomb these lovebirds).

You're welcome to fill in as many or as little prompts as you'd like for any of the weeks, there's no pressure! Just make sure to tag your fills with #keenswimmers2026. This makes it easier to find content! Also, this year I'll have a bit of help with the first two week's roundup posts from @undeadchestnut so look out for those! I'll be still doing the last two roundup posts as well as the final roundup.

I almost thought there was a firefly on Strickler's finger at the first minute I saw this. lol

This helped brighten my day! 💛😊

Seeing this picture kinda of gives me a good feeling in a way, even if Stickler smiling at the Inferna Copula isn't really morally good? xD

He seems like he's got some kind of romantic thought in mind and that he loosened himself up for something. I still wonder what his reason is for the Inferna Copula here.

Also, I love the way how you made the yellow light reflect on Strickler's body and how fine his hair is (especially his lighter grey hair. It's always tough to make that part of the hair look fine.)

I went to a store yesterday that sells gemstones and bought two Serpentine stones and a Serpentine bracelet. I got that type of stone because the creators of my favorite changeling (you all know who I'm talking about. 😉) chose to use that type of stone for the stone skin of my favorite changeling.

Having Serpentine (even wearing a bracelet of it) that was inspired for my favorite changeling feels special to me. 💚

I really love that transition you made of Jim floating on the water- his normal self above the water while the backside of his armor is getting red and he's transitioning to his half-troll form (with his horns noticable on the head).

I also love how the atmosphere in this picture gives out a feeling of dread and angst, especially with that expression of hopelessness and that feeling of just ready to give up, on Jim's face. The dark shades of colors helps bring that out, too.

Honestly, you did amazing at drawing Jim in this, along with his armor for both Daylight and Eclipse! ❤

I got a tornado watch in effect for my area and all around the central part of my state, right now through 3pm EST. It's so windy in my area. If I'm not active much today, then I lost power. I also have to drive out in that wind to work. Hopefully no tornado hits my state!

Everything for me is fine now. No tornado hit. My area had heavy rain and strong wind, but luckily I didn't lose power at home and work, and there weren't many serious branches and trees that fell.

I made sure to keep my car far away from trees and light poles at my job's parking lot earlier ago.

Finally... after starting this drawing in 2023 I have finished my magnum opus lol.

Featuring dragon! Strickler and a redesigned Magiktech amulet armour design for Jim that ACTUALLY matches with Excalibur and resembles Daylight a bit more, for future events in Challenging Destiny! (They're still a while away lol. But the gist is Strickler gets a new form, as a dragon, to help with a certain future-past quest).

Closeups and original concept sketches/WIP stuff under the cut!

Head shots just in case tumblr eats the quality, and close up on my version of the reforged Excalibur (also yes, that is a wedding ring on Strickler's claw! It helps him shift forms, later on in Challenging Destiny).

Also because I'm very proud of it, the drawing with just the background since I drew it as a complete thing! First time doing a background with water and it being a fully rendered piece on its own.
