@seijohnoace replied to your post “There’s a stormcloud camped on Hajime’s face that tells the entire…”
Hajime’s so caught up in brooding that it’s not until a shadow falls over him that he looks up and blinks, the sight of Fukuroudani’s ace – and the main source of his disappointment – greeting him. He gives a grudging nod, trying to school his features into something more presentable. It works… sort of. “Go ahead.”
“Thanks!” The agreement elicits a bright grin from Bokuto. Seating himself down, said Fukurodani ace paused briefly to stretch his legs. “I hope you don’t mind me being nosy and stuff, but you’re the ace of Aobajosai right? They told me that you’re a wing spiker too! It kinda sucks that we can’t play together today but if you’re cool with it, you wanna like do so once your shoulder heals? Like…I dunno maybe as a casual thing during the future break or something?”
Hajime can’t help it; his own mouth quirks into a small half-smile of its own in response to Bokuto’s grin. The other boy is so obviously friendly it’s infectious, and at his words, Hajime immediately perks up, his back straightening imperceptibly.
“You wanna do that? Seriously?” he inquires, momentarily forgetting the stiffness in his shoulder as he turns to face Bokuto. A small pause, and then Hajime presses on, because why not. “I was really looking forwards to playing with you in particular, actually.” he freely admits. It’s not just the fact that Bokuto’s an ace; he’s one of the top in Japan, and really, it would just be nice to play against someone like that who isn’t Ushijima (fuckin’) Wakatoshi. Hurriedly shaking off thoughts of Shiratorizawa, Hajime lets another small grin light his face. “You’re one of nation’s top five, yeah?”
