@seldom-evil
everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly you’re “taking things too seriously” and you “don’t have a sense of humour” like i’m sorry but saying protect the dolls doesn’t make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless you’re actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs
“Only women can—” nope. “But all men—” nah. “The divine femininity of—” gonna stop you right there. “Everyone born ama—” if you finish that sentence I’ll kill you. “Men don’t experience—” you’re wrong. “Gender isn’t real but sex is imm—” *loud incorrect buzzer*
It also goes without saying that bioessentialism inherently can’t be trans inclusive no matter how hard you try. “All men including trans men—” probably not. “This is only a woman’s issue—” is it really? “Afabs only—” why? “All trans men are like—” what? what are they like? finish the sentence i dare you.
thinking about edvard munch's "The Sun" (1911)
like yeah thats how it feels. thats what it feels like to exist sometimes. he gets it
Also very big! Takes up two stories!
So those are two different paintings. Just, observably. Which got me wondering which was mis-sourced. And searching for me both, as well as some others, with dates from 1909-1916. And BOTH of these are listed on different sites as being the 1909 or the 1911.
But eventually I did find:
Gdi, Munch.
He did this a lot, too:
So in conclusion: the art world needs to start numbering works if the artist doesn't, because fuck this noise.
dude it's just politics, it doesn't matter. all it does is shape every single aspect of the society you live in from the second you are born until forever
via bree newsome bass on twitter:
“The widely circulated timeline created by @Zerflin does a great job in showing how recently slavery & segregation occurred & that they lasted longer than the modern era.
“I'd like to offer this timeline as another way of viewing the same period of history to show the constancy of both Black resistance in US & efforts of the white power structure to maintain racial caste since 1619.”

This second picture is MUCH more accurate!
I had the exact same experience the second time I looked at this picture as the first time. I was looking like "what is this green line? Like suddenly everything is OK? It's not. Racists are still trying to push us back to 1619. Nothing has been fixed. We still need to fight. Hard!
I'm not a catholic and have never even seen one up close, but I think the pope should start excommunicating people on the reg again. Just start publicly going "you know what, fuck you, you can't sit with us. You're not allowed in church or heaven on the grounds of being JD Vance. Eat shit and go to hell."
Stir shit up a little. What's the point of being the mouthpiece of god if nothing you say has consequences.
it's rushed and ugly, but I threw this together about it anyway.
If you know who Emmett Till is please reblog.
I’m trying to prove a point to my dad.
kittens are so fucking stupid & i love them
thats not stupid, that’s The Dream
tired: breakfast in bed.
Wired: Breakfast IS bed.
think part of why romance is so predominant in society is because we don’t let ourselves get close enough to friends.
i will do anything for my friends, go to hell and back, carry them up mountains, ect. in fact, I literally have carried some up mountains, and there wasn’t anything romantic about it.
I've always disliked the "I Am No Man" moment in Peter Jackson's Return of the King because it fails to capture the fact that when the Witch King threatens Eowyn with horrific unimaginable torment, she responds by making him soil his ghostly britches.
from The Memory Palace, by Nate DiMeo
The prophetic symbolism of your dreams is the ontological polar opposite of asking an AI program. The answers you get are not for the questions you meant to ask, the ways in which they are worded are absurd and incomprehensible, and they may seem like utter garbled nonsense, but they are never wrong.
Very many white LGBT people understand the idea that the societal concept that CisHet is the ‘standard’ or ‘default’ state of a human, at best, is a flattened look at the human experience, and worse a dangerous idea that leads to discrimination. Yet not very many of them seem to grasp the similar concept that thinking white people are the ‘default’ or ‘standard’ version of a person also leads to the same thing.
Allowing myself to be perfectly blunt, this post is about racism. Specifically about how y’all can analyze and identify bigotry under the lens of sexual orientation and gender identity; but CANNOT or WILL NOT hear the criticisms of race and racism in the same regard. Please don’t get it twisted.
