Er … Die Hard? You are so — spirited as always! That song by Mariah Carey is so cheerful, even an Italiano like me can appreciate it. Are there any decorations that you put up? Oh, oh, and what about caroling? I love caroling! 

Yes SIR! You got the trees, the decorations, the gift, the music... man, even Bruce Willis. He’s like a metaphor for a modern Santa. Gruber is the Grinch... yada yada, you got my point. If I ever go to college again, I’m gonna write my whole thesis on this.

Ciao, ciao! I have prayed on it and shaken away the traumas of the previous day grazie fratellino e Spagna  that I will no longer give my time or energy to — for it is not only a new day, but a new month! It is the magical holiday season and I am in full decorating mode. I am glad I was able to start my holiday shopping early … that only leaves gift wrapping and planning get togethers with family and friends! Christmas always brings back such fond memories. While cleaning up, I found this very old photo that still brings the brightest smile to my face.

He shrugs. “I don’t really know who else has a motive. Especially a small country that might have it out for everybody else. Considering Europe is a bunch of small countries, it could be anybody.”

“Dang. I remember those days... took the wind outta me too, when I got hit.”

Amelia/Marta puts the investigation to the side, if only for a little while. If they could avoid getting murdered for this long, maybe it was safe enough to have some #deep conversations.

“You ever need anything, David, just holler. The rest of the kids too. Europe is pretty brutal. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of them. Stick close, okay?”

When questioned again about the other micronations, he shifts uncomfortably. “Well, they’re not serial killers, but I did hear that Carlino got murdered by his own family recently. Apparently, there’s just this whole chunk of Europe that’s got violent tendencies towards each other.”

“… Who was even killed?”

“... Wait. His family killed him? That’s rough, buddy. At least I just make you pay taxes. Sheesh.”

Amelia/Marta puts her thumb to her chin. The plot thickens...

“I saw that techno ginger throw a fit, and while I’d usually blame gingers, something seems off. The cute girl doesn’t look like she can do much besides mime. Peter is... Sealand? He’s dope. We dressed up as Starbucks drinks and crashed England once. I should get him a Butterbeer frap when all this is over...”

When she’s done rambling, a metal gear solid exclamation point noise goes off in her head.

“Wait. Starting to have a change of heart. If his family was out to get whoever Carlino is... maybe somebody is trying to frame you guys. But who?”

She begins pacing. That’s what all the big-shot detectives did in the shows. Fake it ‘til you make it, Miss America.

“’To your knowledge?’ What does that mean? Aren’t they your besties?”

Amelia/Marta just can’t be tamed. She looks like Charlie Day trying to crack the mystery of Pepe Silvia.

“Won’t tell us who he is... comes in his pajamas... because he can’t be bothered to change his outfit after a midnight killing spree... I bet these flowers are poisoned. I’ve got my eyes on you, buddy.”
