“Well it’s stupid.” Scorpius repeated as he had pushed his text book aside. This was an unwanted betrothal and he wanted away out of it but he didn’t want to be disowned by his father. He was the only parent he had left. “Do you want to be disowned by your own family?”

Elli rolled her eyes, “Obviously not.” It was true Elli didn’t have the best relationship with her father, and the things he knew about him would hurt haunt her forever, but she was still his little girl. At least she hoped she was. “I just don’t want to marry you.”

“Slytherdor? Gryfferin? Who knows – but joint houses could be pretty cool. Sounds like it’d be pretty complicated to organize that though.”

“Well, I think it’s a start.” Elli shrugged her shoulders, “A rough beginning for how we’re going to show our fathers off.”

Kellar smiled too, recreating the other’s on his own expression. His ears burned as the girl stepped closer and, closing his eyes, he leaned forward too and pressed their lips together. He moved his hand up to the crook of her neck and then eventually pulled away - out of breath. “If I get a kiss like that every time you want to complain, I’ll gladly be your shoulder to cry on,” He spoke, smiling while his thumb traced her cheek. “Can I have another?”

Elli smiled, biting her lower lip, after Kellar broke away from the kiss. She laughed at his initial comment and responded, “Well then I will be coming to you more often. There’s a lot more up here then what people think.” She gestured up to her head, “I think you gotta work a little bit harder for your next one. I don’t think girls should always make the first move.”

“Conflicted? Aren’t we all,” Kellar responded, understandingly. “I try to help as best as I can,” He shrugged as she ran her fingers through her hair. “No problem, Elli,” He smiled, but it slowly turned into more of a smirk as he began to think. “-You could owe me a kiss?” He propositioned, even though Kellar thought in the back of his head that she’d never go for it.

“Thank you for giving me that time. I don’t mean to complain about my problems to you, but since I did, I guess, a kiss would be worthy thank you.” Elli smiled at the other. She didn’t care much about physical affection, she knew that it got her what she wanted in the end. At least that’s what she saw, especially from the side women in her father’s life. She stepped closer to Kellar and planted her lips onto of his.

“Right again! They obviously didn’t see it that way, and now I’ve got a stupid detention to sit through,” Laurel complained with a little pout.

“Ugh, I can try and find a way to sneak you out if you’d like.” Elli offered.
