âAnadlwch fy nghariad.â Gavril had whispered softly when his wife stopped in her tracks and leaned into him more. âAc o'r hyn rydw i'n cofio ei glywed dwi'n meddwl eu bod nhw'n cael eu diffyg amynedd gan eu brawd hšn.â He let their grandfather take her since he could feel that she needed their shared ancestorâs quiet strength in that moment than him whispering things she clearly knew to do, and helped his cousin Vladimir make ready the bed.
âPwyllog ar fy merch.â The Sarmatian/Celt knight whispered as he gently rubbed Helenaâs back and then kissed the side of her head as he guided one of her hands to her belly. âTheyâre alive my girl I know you donât have much faith in yourself so allow me to have the faith for you.â
âBed it is sweet girl.â Artur said before getting onto the bed and positioning himself at its head. âYour pillow awaits.â
Gavril got on the bed right after Artur and very carefully helped his wife into bed with the help of Vladimir and Lada, âYouâre so beautiful iubirea mea.â He said with a smile as he carefully laid down with his wife against their uncle while Vladimir started an IV and their grandfather checked the position of the babies.
âEverything is as it should be merch fach.â The older man said with a smile after he felt around Helenaâs belly before taking a fetal doppler from Vladimir, âHello little one.â He said with a smile when the sound of a babyâs heart rate filled the room. âThereâs baby A, now lets see how baby B is getting on.â
âThat sound never gets old.â Lada said with a smile as she and her husband made themselves comfortable across the room.
âGet rest while you can sweetheart.â The older Vladimir said as he got on the bed with Helena and Gavril. âAnd just tell Gavril and I whatever you need. Weâre right here with you and weâre not going to leave you no matter what.â
Despite her knowledge, both as a Medical professional and a woman that had given birth before, his supportive whispers had been greatly appreciated; it was growing increasingly difficult to be clinical and precise in her every action when every nerve-ending in her body had been set ablaze with pain.. honestly, had he not reminded her to do so, she might very well have forgotten to breathe because she hurt so much. And as for his musings about where their little ones had inherited their impatience from... he seemed to have a point there. It would come as no surprise to her if they were indeed heavily under Abraham's influence already.
Breathless; gasping violently as yet another contraction tore mercilessly through her abdomen - this one so intense it had caused her knees to buckle, all she could do was nod as their grandfather pressed her hand against her stomach. -- She could feel them. Their desperation to be born was apparent, and though that comforted her in the moment, there was still the crippling fear that something could go wrong gnawing at the back of her racing, pain-addled mind. But, she trusted him. With their lives. With hers.. She trusted him, and what little faith she could muster was placed in the knowledge that he, of all people, could save them - that he would save them if things went awry, no matter the consequences for her. â Th-Thank you, â She managed to stammer out once more, her voice cracked and trembling audibly, after a few moments spent with her head bowed and her teeth grinding viciously through the pain.
So much of her energy had already been spent it was nothing short of miraculous that she had been able to assist Gavril, Vladimir and Lada in getting herself into bed at all. The contraction had yet to subside, making it infinitely more difficult for her to move, but they'd managed it sans too terribly much difficulty. Oh, and she was almost deliriously happy to feel the mattress against her rigid back, and the soft warmth of their uncle's fur as she lay her head down carefully on his side. But, most importantly, Gavril was there. He was very much alive, and safe, and real, and close... Should her grasp on reality begin to slip, all she'd need do was touch him to remind herself that she hadn't dreamt him. All she'd need do was breathe in his scent to keep herself grounded. -- But she did wish that she could curl herself up tightly against him and bury her face in his chest. At the moment, all she could manage was turning her head to hide her face in the column of his neck and close her eyes, allowing his pulse throbbing softly, steadily against the bridge of her nose to lull her into a slightly calmer state. â I must look an awful fright, â She murmured in gentle jest as the spasm that had lain siege to her abdominal muscles ceased at last. â but I do appreciate the flattery. â
â Everything is as it should be. â A sigh comprised of equal parts exhaustion and marrow-deep relief spilled from her lips as the bed shifted slightly. â They're almost here. They're almost truly ours. â She murmured against Gavril's neck, easing one of her hands under his own and lacing her trembling fingers through his.
â You're going to be an incredible father, my love. â
