My second artist book ever! I’m hoping this can qualify for the areyoubookenough_red challenge on Instagram.
Sound on for the lyrics ;)
This is my second finished artists book, and was made for my best friends 18th birthday, during the week of love (before Valentines Day). The book is about 5 by 4 cm. The pages you see in this video have a secret pocket in between each flip of the page (the pages are tied together with black thread, continuing the line that leads through the whole book). Inside those pockets are mini pages, accessible by their tabs, each holding a memory or sentiment I share with my bestie. I forgot to get a picture of it, but when the book is stood on its side, the pages spread and the covers touch, creating a rainbow starburst look from the top view. In this video, you can also hear me singing along to the lyrics of Wicked’s “For Good” that run through the book as I flip the pages. It’s a voiceover, so it’s not perfectly lined up.
[ID: Video of hands unwrapping an artist book (a twist tie in the shape of a heart is taken off, and then the red, flower patterned cloth covering around the book is unwrapped). The rainbow kettle-stitched spine is shown to the camera before the hands flip through the pages while a voiceover sings the lyrics that are on the pages. After showing the lyrical pages, a small tab is pulled from a secret pocket in the book to show an extra page with writing on it. There are 8 tabs throughout the book. The hands then close and rewrap the book, pausing before taking it off screen.]
