SenadiMell lives in the USA - a blog guide
A guide to my (loose) tagging system - these are tags so people can block if desired. I may add stuff as the situation evolves. My life and civic involvement has changed a lot recently; my blog will probably reflect that. I'll try to update this if I systematize something else.
"current events" is for news stuff, generally with the implication of unpleasant current events. It is a general tag, and I am unlikely to use it for happy stuff. Will use most often.
"US tag" is for stuff happening in the USA. A lot of the stuff I'm going to be reblogging doesn't quite fit the criteria I'd use for a politics tag but it is USA-centric and generally political and I imagine people might want to avoid that specifically. Will probably use pretty often.
"A long train of abuses and usurpations" refers to the general illegal stuff coming out of the US executive branch right now. It'll probably be applied mostly to stuff directly about the current personalities preying off of state resources. Will use more sparingly.
A general principle: my political involvement is primarily IRL and often with my real name and face attached, so with regards to action requests on my blog, they will likely be limited to the following:
Contacting representatives & local/state authorities
Commenting on proposed executive branch actions (even if these are ignored and the bad stuff happens anyways, I believe in going on record about why it's wrong)
I do not generally reblog fundraiser requests. If I blog about a fundraiser, it's probably for Internet Archive and I probably wrote at least a post in a thread, if I'm not the OP. I get enough fundraiser requests in the mail already and generally donate directly to organizations I already know and trust.
I treat the stuff I write and the stuff I circulate differently. If I'm writing to request action, I am generally not going to tag it with block tags (except for perhaps the US tag since most actions I'm requesting will be directed at US people). That's because this is me talking, and if I took the energy to research and write about it, I would like people to see it.
"Me stuff" - this tag is primarily for venting. Please feel free to ignore.
