「✿」“Alright!” she responded to the woman in front of her, proceeding to raise her dress of course not that much but at least able for the other to see the wound. The little child looked down to watching how to the woman in front of her cured her wound. It impressed her a lot that she could do something like this.

As the lady focused on healing the wound, Shiva watched how she did it. It’s something never seen of curing something. It impress her a lot to know how the woman healed her. She want to learn how to do it too! but it will be best to ask once she’s done curing the wound.

“Hey, miss do you think it will be okay after this?” she asked paying attention to the process of healing that the other is doing to cure her.

Luckily, she seemed to be a good kid. During the healing process, she was slightly agitated at how weak she had become thanks to this city. She could have used a faster procedure to heal the child, but with what she given she had to use the most basic jutsu she had.

“It will be. So long as you aren’t careless enough to repeat the same mistake, then all should be well.”

Once it was completed, the glow faded away and she brushed her hand over where the wound once was. As expected, it was as if she had never gotten it in the first place. With the job done, she stood again to stare down at her, considering she didn’t have a reason to hang around. Yet, she didn’t leave immediately. With arms crossed, she looked like she was ready to discipline the younger.

“Don’t you have a guardian around here to look after you? If you don’t, you should at least take better care of yourself. It’s your one and only body that’s give to you once in your entire life. You’d ought to take good care of it.”

“This city surely doesn’t know how to have a good time when there aren’t many places to place bets around here... What a disappointment.”

「✿」The little one had gotten a scratch on her knee for running around, it’s embarrassing but she needed to ask for help. The girl looked around to see if she could find anyone nearby to request for some help that’s when she saw the woman and went to her. After calling out for her, she told her the problem but it seem she didn’t understood well so she told her once more hoping to get some help “Um! I scratched my knee and its bleeding, can you help me miss?”

“A scratch?”

As a medical-nin, that was more than enough to get her attention. She finally found the reason to come to her height, capturing a closer look at the wound. Her eyes squinted at the sight of it, realizing how the blood dried around the outer corners of it.

It’s rather deep, too...

What was it that those wretched scientists told her? That she could heal simple wounds three times a day? Well, that should have been enough to heal something trivial like this. Placing a hand above the wound, she focused her chakra on it as she spoke to the younger.

“Be still until I tell you otherwise.”

Once her hand was steady, a green glow emitted from her hand as she began the process to recover the child’s knee.

Blake could not blame her for such weariness. It was smart of her to question such authenticity. Whenever new people arrived, most of them trusted others right off the bat. They did everything and anything to become acquainted in their new captivity. That included accepting both help and advice from strangers who had been living her for quite sometime. 

Though sometimes even that had backfired as the months went on once true intentions were revealed. The faunus was lucky to have met some good people in her time. She had always been a cautious person. Hive City was next to no different from any village or city she traveled to back in Remnant, and that was a solid fact.

Eyes flicker momentarily to the back of the alley once more, shifting her weight from one leg to the other.

“… That’s fair. I’m more than sure you can handle whatever is thrown your way. But I’ve learned along the way that a helping hand can be beneficial, even when you don’t necessarily want it.” 

And that even as a protector, many people would not want your help along the way.

“It was never my intention to force you into doing anything. My apologies.”

She had been through many betrayals in her life though, mostly those whom she had thought to trust. But she was strong, she wasn’t going to let that ruin her hopes in humanity. Her people were the proof of it, the entire village that she swore to protect was truly the Will of Fire.

Her gaze was steady at the other, not a hint of agitation laid on her face. The way she spoke and posed herself seemed credible, and instead of shoving her ideals down her throat like many would have, she simply respected her boundaries. In return, the older showed a similar amount of it as well, and her tone clearly was less tensed than before.

Even when you don’t necessarily want it, huh? Funny that she said that-- she frankly knew that better than anyone.

“You aren’t wrong, I suppose. It depends on your instincts in the end, whether to see the good in people or not. And through it comes strength once you’ve found the ones you can believe in.”

“Save your apology- my intention wasn’t to guilt trip you. It’s only natural for people to interfere when they see someone in trouble.”

Before she could say anymore, however, a voice boomed from behind the two. If they were to turn their attention towards the sound, they would have seen one of the men from earlier that was chasing after the woman. Immediately her stance changed, a foot sliding behind against the pavement floor as she got into a battle stance. A quick glance was given at the girl before returning it back at the man.

“Step aside if you’re not planning to get hurt from this.”

“Nope! But Maria’s been here a month or so, and Maria saw you coming from the rooms people wake up in, uu!! Maria was wondering If Maria could help you miss?”

“Oh, is that so....” 

The only helped that she wanted was a way to get out, but obviously she wouldn’t know. With much contemplation put in place, she groaned as she thought about it more. 

“If you really want to help, then where’s the nearest market around here?”

She was planning to buy some liquor to ease herself from all of this, but... should she really do that in front of a kid? Not like that ever stopped her, to be honest.

For Heaven’s sake, why were there so many little runts running around in this city without super vision? And this particular one seemed to want to get her attention. She didn’t bother trying to kneel down to her height, so she simply cocked her head down to exchange glances with her.

“Sakura! Glad you’re here, come here for a second!”

If she shoved her way through the crowd of people that surrounded her teacher, she would realize that she was having a showdown in arm wrestling with another man. 

“We need a referee, and you’ve been elected to be one as of now.”

Giving a helpless sigh, Vax couldn’t help but feel  sorry for the poor cashier on the other side of the counter. Producing a couple of shimmering gold coins from a pouch on his hip, he placed them down on the counter, offered a light smile, and slipped after the woman. At this rate, he was mostly just moving along  with her to attempt to prevent her from harming anyone…though she had been more than capable of harming him should she have desired.

“You know…I highly doubt that young man behind the counter made those prices. I’m actually rather sure that the reason they’re spiked so high is because they know people might be desperate for a bit of release from their stress in this city. Are you alright, miss?”

The half elf did have a habit of butting his nose into other people’s business and trying to make it better somehow. Though she seemed like the type of person he should avoid if he wanted his life to be any semblance of easy in this city.

Then again, when had his life ever been easy?

“Maybe I could help you find a store, mm? I’m Vax’ildan, by the way.”

She couldn’t have cared less if she was permanently kicked out of the store or not, it wasn’t like she was in debt to it. By now, her assistant would have said something along the lines of ‘Tsunade- sama! Please control yourself!’, and the voice rang vividly in her head. Wow, she actually missed Shizune being around her to nag her. 

Her footsteps gradually came to a halt once she heard additional ones behind her. Pivoting, she realized it was the man from before. With arms crossed, she wasn’t exactly pleased to see him. What was he going to do? Try to calm her down more even if she had already done that on her own after giving up?

Oh no, he was trying to shed light on empathy. A harsh sigh came through, now talking under a more controlled tone. 

“An employee or not-- someone should have had the audacity to say something against it before putting it out on the shelves like that. They’re not bound to remain silent just because they work underneath their ‘superior’. 

Besides, they were bound to receive a complaint like that sooner or later without my assistance.”

A small huff. 

“Tsunade.” If they were going to exchange introductions, she may as well would do it without coming off too salty to him, considering he wasn’t at fault here. And look, he was actually trying to help her escort to a better location. The temptation was too real, and she decided to gamble her trust on him to see if he would keep his word.

“If you can find a more reasonable store than that, then be my guest. Being brought into a damned city like this while on retirement is not something I had planned for entirely...”

Call it a force of habit. Having been somewhat notorious for her stealth, there was no surprise to her that she had startled the woman before her. Blake was not sure what she had stumbled upon exactly. It looked as though she was perhaps… spying? Or– Ah. Hiding. 

The faunus only came to such a conclusion when the woman mentioned something about brutes. Silently an ear flickered at the comment, both feline ears then standing upright when she heard rampant shouting not too far from where they were. Typical Wednesday.

“… No ma’am.” Calmly she had folded her arms over her chest, peering into the alleyway beyond where they had both been standing.

“Though I am willing to help in whatever situation you seem to be stuck in.”

Ears? Her stare was immediately redirected to the subtly fidgeting ears above her. Those weren’t decoration, that was for certain. If she hadn’t noticed it, she would’ve mistaken it as a bow since it blended in with her hair so well.

There was a distance between them, but not too far to not be able to look like some standoff. She rested her side against the wall, securing the knowledge that they were the only ones occupying the area as of the moment. 

Unfortunately with limitations weighed on her, she wasn’t as powerful as she was and that was a great disadvantage. But since when was strength defined through abilities and chakra? True strength pulled through no matter what, and although she had to admit what she had lost-- she wasn’t going to accept her own loss. It was why she raised a brow at the girl’s offer, not out of offense but having complete faith in being able to handle this by herself.

“I’m not helpless, I can reassure you on that. But receiving a help from someone that I barely know... I can’t say I can take your word for it. Even you have to admit that can be a dangerous proposal to accept.”

“Whoa, whoa! Let’s calm down here. If this… alcohol is that important to you then I’ll buy it for you, it’s not worth starting a fight over, is it? Would you mind if I did that?”

He’d slowly placed himself between the rather angry woman and the cashier. He dared not put a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to calm her down. He knew better than to try and get between someone who was angry and the target of their ire by now. He was just trying to settle things peacefully now. It was more than he’d done for most people but…then again, the people that he’d harmed in this city had all deserved it.

She looked over to see who even tried to interfere this feud between her and the other, and it didn’t help simmer down her anger as he tried to bring sense into it. 

“That’s not the problem here. This is more of a scam than me complaining about lousy sales!” 

Her painted red nail pointed at the man who clearly was backing away from her at this point. A tight fist in the other, her chocolate stare was now steered towards the other man. She knew better not to throw her anger at someone that tried to help the situation, but such was the basis of the previous Hokage’s anger management. With a final warning given through her deadly glare, she harshly kicked against the counter before storming out.

“Whatever- I’m finding another store.”

She had literally just arrived here in the city, and she already found trouble to fall into. With the lack of entertainment and money she had, she decided to make her own gamble in a bar. But when things went south (as her luck had it), she simply sprinted out and made a turn to an alleyway, watching as the group of men began to look for her. If she had to put up a fight, then she was going to with whatever chakra she had left inside of her. 

As she peeked from behind the wall, she felt a sudden presence beside her to jolt back. A girl... It was only a girl. But who was she? 

“You’re not affiliated with any of those brutes, are you?”

“HAAA-? What a ripoff! That’s far too high for a bottle of sake– I demand a discount!”

A firm slam against the wooden counter, she felt her rage piling inside of her as she encountered the cashier face to face. Now, she wasn’t here to pick a fight but the price was a laughing matter for her to say something about it. With customers directing her gaze at her, she truly was on the verge of jumping over just to have a better consultation with the poor employee.
