As the moon was eclipsing and turning red, a little band called The strokes were performing in a little town called Washington DC and little senna had a face melting, brain exploding life changing experience. What a band.

Pakistani cooking tips from Senna Aunty, lesson 1: namak, mirch, haldi, dhanya. Memorize these four spices, as they will be the base of all Pakistani cooking. The combination of these four result in that bold taste that is very distinct to Pakistani cuisine. Memorize it. Namak, Mirch, Haldi, Dhanya. #sennaskitchen

I went without makeup for thirty days during the month of Ramadan. Read all about why and how on kajalmag.com
Here’s a little snippet:
I got my certification for makeup artistry this year so it’s safe to say that I live and breathe makeup. I’m one of those people that will go FULL glam as much as I can, even if it’s to go somewhere like the dentist’s office.
The act of putting makeup on is one of my favorite things, it’s therapeutic for me to stipple on my foundation, flick my liner to get the perfect cat eye, and get my contour angle juuuuuust right. But I always kept questioning WHY it made me feel so good. Was it because I was using makeup to adhere to societys standards about looking a certain way? Or because I actually, genuinely like the way I feel when I use makeup or have makeup on?

#Curvy
I’m a big instagram addict. If I’m on my phone and not group texting the squad, I’m usually on instagram doubletapping to my hearts content. There is a whole range of accounts I follow, from celebrities, to friends, to people across the world with pretty photos, to cute little gelato shop that just opened across town. One of the groups of people on instagram I’m a big fan of are the body positive women. These women share so much love and support with each other, and emanate so much confidence that has inspired me to be in love with my body.
So when I realized this morning that #curvy was blocked on instagram, I clearly became upset. Curvy was the one word that I could describe myself as that did not make me feel like I was being looked down upon. There were no negative connotations attached to it. Sometimes, it actually kind of felt nice. I’m all for reclaiming words like “fat” to reduce the negative connotations of it, but there’s something about curvy that helped me feel like I wasn’t being stared at in a negative way.
I can understand why Instagram would ban #thin and #fat, since there is a lot of thinspo and shaming that can go along with it, unfortunately. But to ban #curvy is just so ridiculous to me.
ITS ABOUT TO GO DOWNNNNNNNNNNN
Sunday skinday! Here's a DIY steam facial for you: after cleansing your face as you normally do, boil about 6 cups of water and put into a heat proof bowl with your favorite herbs. I used basil, mint, and green tea leaves because of their powerful antioxidant properties. Sit so that your face is about 10 inches away from the steam and use a towel to create a tent around your head and the bowl. Stay like that for about 10-20 minutes, taking occasional breaks for a couple seconds. Pat dry with a towel and apply your favorite masks. Rinse with lukewarm water and moisturize, and enjoy your glow! ☀️☀️☀️ the benefits of a steam facial are amazing. It opens your pores and allows much easier access to all the gunk your skin has been collecting, so that extracting them with masks and adding nutrients to them is much easier! Always make sure you rinse masks with lukewarm to cold water to close the pores back up, though.

The death toll for Karachi, Pakistan is over 1700 because of this horrible heat wave. Electricity, water, and ice prices are rising bc of the horrible heat wave so those who are poor can’t afford it. Please pray for Pakistan.
