Hello there!

As you can tell by my url, I am a huge fan of Wu from Ninjago :) this is an About post!

My name is Bri, and I'm a 24 year old from Australia. I go by they/them.

I like to draw and write, as well as other stuff like knit and crochet, and play video games. I stream over on Twitch sometimes!!

Here, there's mostly Ninjago stuff, but there will also be stuff from other fandoms and general stuff I'm interested in.

When I'm watching stuff I like to liveblog it. These posts are tagged with "bri watches [name of show/whatever]", in case you don't wanna see those and want to blacklist them.

I have many AUs, which I make lots of stuff (mostly art) for. ...Most of them focus on Wu. I'm normal, I promise.

Theres lots of him and also Misako on this blog. Please don't be rude if you don't like them. They're massive comfort characters to me.

Speaking of Misako, I have a cat named Misako! So if you see me talking about Misako and it seems a little odd... it's probably about my cat XD I try and tag these posts "kittysako" to make it clear.

It's wild (and kinda funny) how people will just. Not hide that they are BLATANTLY staring at you when they think you can't see them.

Friendly reminders for some fans:

Lloyd and Misako love each other

Lloyd doesn't resent her and he accepted her in her debut episode thirteen irl years ago

Her not being by his side every moment doesn't mean she's neglecting him, he's an independent, trained, superpowered ninja, and she has a life outside of him

Regardless of circumstances, the actual absentee, abusive, neglectful parent in Lloyd's life is Garmadon

The Devourer's venom and Oni side resurrection don't absolve Garmadon of his sins, and Lloyd isn't obligated to forgive him when he disappears for years and doesn't even apologize

Sensei Garmadon, Lord Garmadon, and resurrected Garmadon are the same guy. people like to pretend that Sensei Garmadon (who was NOT a saint) is the one true Garmadon and all the others' actions should be ignored, but no one in-universe sees it that way. Fanfics always have a moment where Lloyd goes "That THING isn't Garmadon, my father is dead" but in the show he always addresses him as "father" and has never disowned him (unlike Garmadon). But that's part of the general problem of fans projecting their own views onto the characters

"i left you to find a way to save you from killing your own father" (irredeemably evil) vs "i'm compelled to do evil and left you because i'd rather be evil than be your father" and "i was resurrected as the worst parts of myself, tried to kill you several times, and when my conscience re-grew decided i'd rather be a hobo/freeloading bum in some guy's apartment than tell you where i am" (pure bean who deserves a million chances)

Anon, are you for real? Have you seen a different show? It's always been clear that Misako Is everything but not a good mother to Lloyd. And that's okay. Lloyd don't hate her of course, but he does not love her either. Where did you get that he has forgiven her? From the very few line of dialogues that they had? Wich Misako always spent talking with Wu or about Wu than trying to bond with her own son? Tell me when Misako actually took some time to spend with Lloyd instead of being the strong indipendent woman she Is. Is not that she has to always be by his side, the problem Is that she never did so to begin with. Misako did act a little better after The Lego Ninjago Movie because, guess what, they writers noticed how cold and nearly uncaring she was compared to her movie conterpart. Keep in mind, this Is not her fault. Its on the writers. Just like its on the writers the way Garmadon was treated. You can say that he wasn't the best, but absentee, negletcfull and abusive? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Also, Garmadon, Sensei Garmadon and Resurrected Garmadon are nowhere to be considered that same character. The first Garmadon, even thought the evil venom and everything else, still deeply loved his son than anything else in the world. So did Sensei Garmadon, who was trying very hard to bond with his son. Resurrected\Oni Garmadon? Nothing but a walking corpse of the real Garmadon. Everything that happened to him has always been the result of the events, he never choosed to be evil, but he fighted fiercly to protect Lloyd because he loved him like a good father would. To bad that the resurrected version of him was striped of that love, so the writers had a easier way to write him evil like his movie version. Now, Misako always had a choice to do whatever she wanted and she did. She choose Garmadon over Wu (only for a letter), she had a son and said son was left to a boarding school. Yes, she did that so he would be safe while she was researching, but are you really telling me that nobody called her when Lloyd was kicked out of the school? She did not go to pick him up like a normal parent would. She never acted like a normal person. And it's not her fault. Are you understanding what I'm saying? Misako and Garmadon were both done so dirty in a way or another by the writers, so don't go bashing Garmadon to make Misako look good. She's not much of a character. Take out the headcanons glasses and look at the real picture

you gotta remove the headcanon goggles as well. and i hope you say something too when people bash misako to make garmadon seem better

now that I'm recovering Ninjago I admit that you were right. I kind of projected because my memories of Misako werent that clear, and this was really a bad mistake from my part. So I'm sorry if my dated view sounded rude. What I wanted to say in the post was not to bash Misako herself, if anything I was feeling frustated because it took the writers 7 seasons and a movie before rembembering that Misako is a person and that both she and Lloyd care about eachother

Hell yeah man, good on you for actually revisiting things. It sucks how little there is of her in the show (part of why I've lost interest in DR, ngl. Not even MENTIONED...) but from what little there is, we do get a glimpse into their relationship. I wish more people would put the thought into her that they do with other characters.

If Ninjago ever gets rebooted, ninja turtles/astro boy style, i hope they do better by her. Since she'd actually exist from the beginning.
