Navigating my wellness journey in my thirties has profoundly reshaped my perception of life's true essence. In my twenties, I often succumbed to boredom and distraction, blissfully unaware of the importance of having direction. It’s a pity that I didn't have anyone to illuminate this aspect.
The generation that raised us seemed more absorbed in their own lives, often missing that they had only achieved part of their dream by relocating to Australia. They celebrated leaving behind gang affiliations from our homeland, which was indeed a significant accomplishment.
However, the next crucial step was fostering the next generation to capitalize on these newfound opportunities, which are now so obvious. While they acknowledged their achievements, it felt as though the broader vision faded; instead of nurturing new dreams, they focused on celebrating past successes.
Was it more beneficial for us to struggle to forge these new aspirations on our own?
Who am I to challenge their choices? The real question is whether my generation emerged stronger from this growth dynamic. If we hadn't had to build from the ground up, and I had access to clearer guidance, I would have exerted every effort to avoid such hardship. This experience likely influenced how I self-educated, deeply respecting my family's love and sacrifices. I believe that the transfer of knowledge is the cornerstone of generational wealth.
On another note, there’s a noticeable shift in gender dynamics; women are becoming more empowered, while men are embracing sensitivity. Women deserve the freedom to decide their paths, whether following traditional norms or choosing to lead themselves for their happiness. Simultaneously, men should feel free to express vulnerability and nurture gentleness.
These freedoms are among the many battles our ancestors fought for, and it's crucial to remember the foundations they established that underpin our modern society. Reflecting on the complexities of contemporary organizations reveals how fragile humanity can be in the face of rapid change, underscoring the need for respectful handling of such transformations.
Have you found strength through the evolution of your wellness journey?
Absolutely! The most challenging aspect was navigating a so-called normal life that was, in reality, toxic. It wasn't until my mid-twenties that any real change occurred. Grateful as I was, it felt as though I was constantly bracing for disappointment because I had never tasted true freedom before, leading to a rather muted response to my newfound circumstances.
I vividly recall the moment I first inhaled the air of liberation. It felt akin to removing the dense, choking vines that had overrun a house for years. In that moment, I rediscovered how to breathe, my reaction instinctual yet totally unfamiliar. I often cope through dark humor, which sometimes stirs sadness within me.
To achieve a semblance of normalcy, I faced many trials without compromising my pursuit of joy. I held onto the belief that any misstep would lead others to view me differently, diminishing my chances. Despite that, I remained focused on the light at the end of the tunnel, striving for it with as much awareness as I could muster, all while avoiding becoming heartless. It’s a complex journey, to say the least.
Currently, my wellness journey has taught me the importance of not taking my freedom for granted. Actively seeking opportunities to deepen my relationship with God has been transformative, refining my self-awareness along the way. This has become an essential part of my healing process. I aim to cultivate a genuine connection with God, embracing the self that He intended for me. To experience such unconditional love, viewing myself through His eyes while feeling the affection of my Heavenly Father, truly marks an exhilarating path in my life.
