Greetings!

Welcome to my first blog post! I like doing some small translations and fanart of my favourite games and favourite characters. This blog will mostly be dedicated to TLs of oshis! Feel free to correct me if I had made mistakes! I also like to draw so maybe I might post some fanart here as well (still gonna post most art on twitter tho).

¹ Cognitive bias is a systematic thought process caused by the tendency of the human brain to simplify information processing through a filter of personal experiences/preferences. I think the first thing he says in jp, 「紫の靴」 or purple shoes, after Arima flips the next card was the information that stuck with him the most. Therefore because of cognitive bias, he simplified the name into a new one revolving around that information. This led him to come up with his half-baked response.

¹ The original word used for this was “tsukkomi”. It's from what I think is a troupe(?) known as boke and tsukkomi. Boke and tsukkomi are loosely equivalent to the roles of "funny man" or "comic" (boke) and "straight man" (tsukkomi) in the comedy duos of western culture. Which is why I have opted to use straight man for the tl. ² Deus ex machina is a Latin calque from Greek ἀπὸ μηχανῆς θεός (apò mēkhanês theós) “god from the machine”.
