Back To School: Kidnappers are moving! Beware!
Today, August 22, 2022 marks the first day of the face-to-face classes for the school year 2022~2023 after years of being held in quarantines and lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic in my country. However, the news are spreading like wildfire in our city about the mysterious multiple attempts of kidnapping that is going on even during day time within the country. Facebook chat messages from people who claimed to be victims of such tragedies stating their stories of the said attempts of kidnapping are circulating now on facebook messenger for the purpose of spreading awareness to all citizens that such activities are now active in the Philippines. The said criminals often play with these strategies:
1. Someone will pull the victim by force and as quickly as they can. According to the circulating reports, the so-called 'Kidnapper' that grabs the victim is often accompanied with a get-away vehicle (common reports were 'Black Van') behind him/her.
2. Some criminals will use 'Elderly' and 'Young children' pretending to be in need of something which look like being lost or in need to be accompanied with to a given location for the purpose of luring younger students (and even adults) to the location and then abduct the victims.
Personally, I haven't seen any TV reports that tell such stories as for the moment but I would like to share this information to everyone for the purpose of spreading awareness and for us to prepare our family that things like these might possibly happen somewhere and we just hope that it won't happen to us or to our family.
Please tell your family (especially children, those who attend school) to always be vigilant and be careful. Don't offer help to strangers and always EDUCATE your CHILDREN to never follow someone stranger to them.
For adults that possibly might encounter elderly people or children that are in need and possibly be carried away and might give-in, better bring the person to the nearest police station (if the area is crowded, or if the police station is just near the area), or much better call the POLICE right away and inform them that someone is lost and is in-need of guidance and help.
In this way, you can possibly protect yourself and avoid being kidnapped (God forbid) Please be careful everyone and stay safe!~ #minds #kidnapping #philippines #backtoschool #children
