An Update

Hello Sweethearts!! It sure has been quiet on our end, huh? The game is still being worked on, slowly but surely. We’re still really excited to present it to the community when we’re done!!

We’ve unfortunately had to face a large setback that has delayed our progress by weeks, if not months. One of our main documents that held all of our plans, ideas, canons, storylines, and to-do lists for the game was deleted. It was owned by a former team member who we had lost contact with, and none of the rest of us could recover it. All that progress basically vanished overnight.

We have been working on a remake, but it is taking some time. Until it’s finished, there will likely be a good amount of radio silence from us as we break from making progress on the game and focus our energy on recovering what was lost.

The Septic Sweethearts Team wants to extend a huge apology from all of us to you, as well as an even bigger “thank you” for continuing to follow this project through everything!!

To the last anon about wanting to play it at school. Download it on your mobile device, then upload it to your Google Drive. That way at school you can just go to your Google Drive and open the game at the computer. That’s what I do, hope this helps. X3

This ^I am not sure if it’ll work perfectly with save data though, you might have to try that out.

Do we have to download the game? I want to play it at school but if I have to download it, I can’t play it since the school wifi won’t allow me too. I’m not allowed to download any games on my laptop at home either.

Unfortunately, you will have to download the game. If we wanted to make it into a browser based game, it would be really difficult to save each player's progress and you would have to either finish the game in one go or start over every time you play.

The download will consist of an .exe file, which you double click to run the game, and a folder containing the game's assets. I don't know if your school wifi allows for just file downloads or a .zip download, but there is no further setup required so you don't have to download a setup file that you then have to install. You only need to download the asset folder and the executable file and save those on your laptop and then you can run the game even without internet connection.

Those files are saved locally though so if you are using a school computer, you can only play on that specific computer which I don't think is a good idea.

We’re playing with that idea! There is a chart of each ego’s attitude towards/relationship with each other, so there will be references to each other, but so far there are no written scenes where two egos directly interact or have a conversation.Thank you for your support!!~Mod Spraypaint

Do you have a discord?

We have a discord server where the Sweetheart Squad communicates on plans for the game, share assets, and keep each other updated on our progress. There’s no discord server currently for the Septic Sweetheart community, but I’m sure if there was enough of a demand, we could absolutely make one!

The main character will most likely not have a visible sprite, but you will be able to pick a name and pronouns I believe.

don’t worry, these arn’t dumb questions

1) all egos EXCEPT JJ have a route. while he is fantastic, development had already begun when he first appeared, so he is unfortunately non-romancable in the game. Chase however, defiantly is!

2) i’d have to double check, but i don’t think mobile is supported unfortunatly

Mobile is most likely not going to be a thing for several reasons. Maybe in the future, but probably not with the first release.

One of the reasons is that coding for mobile is slightly different. But it's not too difficult to change though, and it's not the main reason.

The main reason is that if we wanted to put the game in the iOS app store, I'd have to have an Apple developer account which costs 99$ per year.

If we didn't put the game in the iOS app store, people would have to (illegally) make their iPhones accept software from external sources. It's possible, but it's not easy.

so just curious any update of how the game is coming along?

Sorry for the late response! We are still making progress, it’s a lot of coding and writing and things that are unfortunately hard to track and display a final product of until the official launch, since we’re always rewriting and rewriting to make it the best it can be.

As far as art goes, our artist right now are working with our coders on getting assets together for character sprites, GUIs, and a functioning map so that we can put out the demo and make a huge leap in progress towards the actual game.

Hey, thanks for being excited!! The inspiration for the game was sparked by an ask septic-italian sent to Mod Lily’s chase-brody-protection-squad blog.
