I donāt know why people seem to say that just because Rose Tyler is in her 19/20s that it excuses her immature behavior. It doesnāt it just shows how flawed she is and that could be a good character movement where she grows up but the show bends over backwards to keep her in the immaturity and that annoys me after a while. And again, I will say this to my dying breath school reunion needs to get whacked with people interpreting Sarah Jane Smith as a jilted lover and being ārudeā for making a comment thatās actually pretty funny if youāve actually paid attention to Doctor Who in the slightestā¦. Hell the Moffat era even made fun of that and itās treated like how it is a joke. Hell Amy even thought it was funny. She didnāt get all ājealousā despite the fact that sheās in her 20s because sheās an adult and she acted like one albeit with immature moments. Again, if a 16-year-old girl can act more mature about the idea that the Doctor has traveled with other people then a 19/20-year-old can get over herself.
Secondly, that brings me to my other point. My favorite classic hoop companion tied together with Sarah Jane Smithā¦.Dorothy āAceā McShane. You know how on previous post I talked about how Doctor Who at least under Russell T Davies didnāt seem to want to deal with prejudice and people just sort of dismissed it. Not Ace when she found out that her boarding house that she was staying in that she was given by the local Neo Nazi(she didnāt know it at the time that was a reveal later in the episode) and she found out that they were prejudice she left. Ace didnāt like prejudice. At all. In fact, one of her friends was attacked by a neo Nazi group and she pretty much made a statement by sending fire to a mansion that supposedly had a great evil in it, but the fact that she said fire to a mansion just to make a point after her friends flat was fire bombed tells me all I need to know about her. Am I making it clear that I like Ace and how I think that sheās a better version of what Rose Tyler could be?
