Witnessed a knight cracking an egg upon his comrade’s breastplate when I went to inform them it was time for a changeover and they were , therefore, excused indoors after fulfilling their sentinel duties for the afternoon. Heard more than saw the collision of the raw egg upon the knight’s foot as they both looked at the egg and then turned their heads to look at me. Needless to say, during these warmer summer months please remember, especially for outdoor shifts, it is important to changeover guards slightly more frequently due to the heat. While the egg did not cook upon the knight’s breastplate it does serve as a reminder of how effectively the sun can heat plate armour.
woke up to find my knight sharpening his sword in complete darkness like some kind of freak
every castle has at least one staircase specifically designed to kill a man carrying soup
Sent some knights on their first hunt without me and upon their return there was some scrawny little thing trailing after them. They brought back two stags, a boar, and some wee slip of a creature with what looks like mange by the state of the dublet it wears. One in particular has begged to keep it as a squire and while I do not usually allow strays I am struggling to deny them. If it is not diseased I will consider it, but I do not recommend this to others, especially less experienced knights.
i would kill for my queen. i would die for my queen. but now she has asked me to live for her, and i fear i may not know how
Stumbled upon the stone steps in front of m’lady, full plate armour-even gauntlets over my gloves. I pray the next sound I make is my death cry.
and so what if I catch her softly running her hands over the forehead of my destrier and so what if I wonder if she could love any beast bred and honed for war?
I was low-key born to be a knight obsessed with his prince(ss).
When I fall hard into my obsession and a person becomes my special interest, they become the keeper of my heart and my happiness. I try and do everything I can to make them happy because it's the only thing that can please me. And when that happens these days it's weird and parasocial ...
But if I was a knight serving the throne then I'm not being parasocial I'm doing my duty to the kingdom. Their happiness is my job, their whims are my command, and I would gladly do anything for them because that makes me happy too.
Ugh 💔 I yearn for such a dynamic.
A rather disgruntled squire approached me this afternoon to tell me that whilst walking let the armory this morning, he believes he may have seen one of the knights licking a whetstone. While many are likely to interpret this as a result of a sort of nutritional deficiency, specifically inadequate roughage in the diet, it is always important to keep track of these behaviors if they become persistent in a knight regardless of dietary or any other changes, as that is not the only reason for this behavior. Upon clarifying which knight it was, I was able to reassure the squire that that knight in particular simply enjoys licking a whetstone now and then as a treat. Some knights are known to do this, it is important to note which ones so as to not ignore any nutritional deficiencies that may arise in your knights as misdiagnosed ‘treat’ whetstone licking. It is also crucial to limit this activity, even though it is enriching, as occasional rewards for good behavior or accomplishments as to not encourage greed or gluttony within a knight.
May I remind everyone that, with the recent fairness of the weather, it is highly encouraged to set aside time in the day for your knights to dress themselves in but their fighting leathers as to not only freshly polish their armour but also allow their gambesons, padding etc., an opportunity to be cleansed and lay out in the sun. Allowing the knights themselves to lay out in the sun is also proven to refresh their spirits and instill them with renewed vigor as the seasons shift and change.
the new knight i have been assigned to squire for just called me “expendable but in a fond way” what does this mean
Whilst it is quite rare for a knight to behave differently while hiding injury, in those rare times you are able to note they have become perhaps lethargic, less excited by their usual favorite activities or news (mention of an upcoming hunt or a week of tourney)or even, in some more intense cases, you may hear the slight rattle of a deep sigh from within their armour, even the creak of their chest heaving whilst not engaged in activity, in these rare times it is important to remember something. While a knight is likely to hide illness or injury and it is wise to take them to be looked over by the royal physician, it is also just as, if not more likely, that your knight is suffering some sort of emotional affliction. While they are trained and disciplined in mastering physical pain, some knights, especially the more unseasoned, are often more likely to show discomfort when experiencing turmoil of the heart. Knights are taught to nurture great loyalty and love as a source of strength but, if they are not regulated properly, they can unfortunately be prone to emotional overwhelm and feelings of inadequacy. What is best to help regulate this sort of ailment can vary depending on the overall training and tasks your knights may responsible for but, I am glad to share what has worked for my knights if there are any unsure of what to do.
Strip poker at the knights order sucks ass this shit takes forever and we're running out of space on the table
Guy next to me took off one bessagew and you can't even see their face but you can feel their smug-ass grin beneath it
@oblivionsdream
You’d be surprised the number of times lifting a visor has been argued to count as ‘removing a full piece’
If your sword doesn't have a name you're not serious about this and I cannot help you.
