My name is Tenchi, I am 18 years old. When I was going through a very hard time in my life, Lady Itsuke of the Cult of Reshiram helped me. I have been living in the Temple of Reshiram for several years, and now it is time for me to spread my wings, go on a journey, and find out who I really am... ~This is a Pokemon OC for ecruteak-ghostmother's Eternal Armor AU. On her travels this blog will serve as the journal she keeps, as well as the place for various rp's she may be involved in, and any M!A's she may recieve. Because of your unusual abilities, your power to absorb ambient auras, you have to contest with the emotions and wishes of so many people all at once… but it also means that, given enough practice, you can shape those thoughts and feelings into sheer, unyielding will.”

“I don’t know if I will ever be able to do that. I can’t help losing my temper sometimes, and then…” Tenchi sighs and looks down at her lap, “I just want my powers to go away…”

Pecha Berry

While not technically a dessert, waffles were the first sweet food that Tenchi ate after she was rescued. She loves them with strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate chips!

“Very well. Please, sit and be comfortable.”

“When I was a little girl- much younger than yourself- my family traveled to a land called Sinnoh. It was a popular place to go to relax, in part because of the three beautiful lakes the region contained. These were Lake Verity, Lake Valor, and Lake Acuity. Valor was the most popular, as it was situated in a warmer part of Sinnoh, but my family could not afford to stay at the Lakefront Hotel, so instead, we stayed by Lake Verity.”

“Beneath those lakes, the Legendary Spirit Trio slumbered, sealed away of their own accord in sunken caverns. Uxie, the Being of Memory, Azelf, the Being of Willpower, and Mesprit, the Being of Emotion. Now, each of these three Pokemon were said to possess powerful defense mechanisms. Uxie, when threatened, could wipe a person’s mind by making eye contact, which is why its eyes were otherwise perpetually closed. Azelf could take away a person’s will to act in entirety, petrifying them. And if anyone were to lay a hand upon Mesprit without its consent, that person would suffer the loss of all emotion in three days time.”

“I do not know what the poacher used to drive the sprite from its hiding place. That part I did not see. I was playing by the lakeshore when I heard the first blast. I should have run away like a good child, but I was dangerously curious. I followed the sound, and soon I was met with the sight of a young man, fighting a young Pokemon with machines. Now, even as a child, I knew this was not how Pokemon battles were supposed to work. I knew I was seeing something very wrong. And, being foolish and believing myself indestructible, I shielded the Pokemon with my body. Mesprit believed me to be another attacker, and as soon as I wrapped my arms around them, the seeds of the curse were sown.”

“The poacher would not have been deterred by a child alone, but fortune was on my side in a sense- my parents had heard the blast and were calling for me, drawing closer. Not wanting to be caught in the act, he retreated- and as soon as he did, Mesprit, too, fled.”

“In the days that followed, I experienced what felt like a sort of fever. I felt weak, and the things I had once enjoyed appealed to me less and less so. I wandered around the cabin we were staying in, trying to make sense of what was happening to me. In time, I ceased to care. In fact, I almost liked what I became. That incomplete version of myself saw my childish dreams and delights as little more than distractions. I isolated myself from my family. And, sorrowful, they cried out to the gods, pleading that their little girl might be restored to her former self.”

“Mesprit had been watching. They knew, perhaps, from the moment they fled, that something was amiss in what they had perceived. And as they watched my family grieve and reflected upon what had transpired, they must have realized the truth, for on the third day after my emotions had faded away entirely, they appeared before my family.”

“The Being of Emotion could not reverse what they had done. The curse was rooted in my life’s essence, and would be with me until the day I died- or, as it ended up being, the day that my body ceased to be mine. But while they could not break the curse, they could give me the gift of emotion anew. From within their own body they drew forth a Red Gem, the like of which appeared naturally upon them, and they gave it as a gift to me. So long as I held the Gem upon my person, I would experience emotion equal to and perhaps even moreso than what I had felt before. Mesprit’s gift is also what unlocked my ability to visibly perceive souls and the ties that bind them together- an ability that, thankfully, seems to be rooted in my soul rather than my body, as it has not been corrupted by time or physical alteration.”

“Mesprit did not forget me even though I was but one insignificant human. They risked their own well-being to restore me, even though they would not suffered had they simply left me as I was. That, child, is why I feel a powerful bond with Mesprit, even above the other gods that I serve.”

“Do you think I will ever have such a connection with a Legendary Pokemon?” Tenchi asks, after listening intently to Lady Itsuke’s story. “I think I would like to, but definitely not under the same circumstances.”

“The gods are of equal importance to me, child. Though I feel a certain kinship towards Mesprit, due to a chance meeting I had with them in my youth.”

“Could you tell me of it? Please?” Tenchi folds her hand in her lap. She met Lady Itsuke in the Temple’s library, her favorite room. Its been a few months since she was rescued, and she’s becoming more adjusted to the place.

Journal Entry One

The first day of my journey. The Temple of Reshiram is directly south of Nimbasa City. I had read that there is an attraction called a “Ferris Wheel” in the city, but I never imagined that it would be so massive. It was almost frightening when I looked up at it, and getting into the car was even a bit of a challenge. But, when the car reached the very top of the circle, I was immediately grateful that I had. I could see everything! Well, nearly everything. There is something massive to the south beyond the desert, I couldn’t quite make out exactly what it is, but I know that I want to go there. I know that there is a city to the south, but the big thing I saw didn’t look like any of the buildings I’ve read about. Perhaps the Temple’s library is out of date? Growlithe and Shuppet came with me of course, and Growlithe ended up smudging her nose on the glass, I guess she was excited too.

I asked the woman who helped me into the car what exactly was to the south, the Desert Resort, and after that Castelia City. There is apparently a housing area between here and Castelia City as well, so I wont need to pass through the desert. 

Tenchi sits at a bench and writes the entry into her journal before exploring the rest of the vibrant city. She enjoys watching the colorful lights, and watching cartoonish Pokemon dance on screens in windows of various buildings. But suddenly a flash back explodes in her mind:  Flashing monitors and beeping, the sudden sting of a needle. Like cool water down a parched throat, calm trickles into her as the fear and anxiety drain away. Shuppet has floated out of her bag, its big candy-corn eyes glowing a soft cyan. Tenchi shakes her head and finds herself again, crouched down in the middle of the sidewalk, holding her knees. The pain in her arm is just her fingernails, and Growlithe is licking her face. She wipes away the wetness from her eyes and hugs both of her Pokemon, “I’m okay.” She stands back up and kisses Shuppet on its forehead before putting it back in her bag, and ruffles the fur on Growlithe’s head. “Okay, let’s go.”

Growlithe gives an affirming bark. At the same time, a young man approaches her. “Miss, are you okay?” He asks. Tenchi nods, feeling self conscious, and he hesitates, but then nods, and gives her her space. She pulls on her braid shyly as she continues. She strays away from the flashing lights, finding the south exit to the city, and sits on a bench in the gatehouse. 

The lights in the city make me more than uncomfortable, the atmosphere is so different here, almost too lively and colorful. The lights in the Temple are a soft ambient white, the exact opposite of here. I can’t stay here any longer.
