More than a poem.
A fighter lost his strength.
Knocked out and taken down.
Death followed at length.
He flowed with a shadowed gown.
My fighter knocked him out.
After this it's been my fifth bout.
No matter what's come i have strength.
Like a crow fighting the flow.
My heart never lost its glow.
Hooked to machines; clinging to life.
Unable to breathe; My brain bled all damn night.
After all the pain; i awoke after just one day.
All that pain; Loved one's strife.
I joked and i know now, that wasn't right.
Because now death's touch is still making me pay.
I owe a debt you see.
Nothing comes without its side effects.
I'm paying forward the kindness And love.
But it's hard; harder than any fight I've had.
Nurses saved me.
They're care let me take off again like a dove.
So many have experienced similar wrecks.
To them I say this, don't resolve to be mad.
This is no time to quit.
Don't give up and let the damage win.
It may feel like the end.
I say this is a new beginning.
Yell "fuck that shit!".
We don't break, we bend.
We faced death and we didn't give in.
Lets keep winning.
I have post-concussion syndrome because I had smashed my head on a poorly paved road. A stranger found me seizing, apparently i was coherent but, i have no memory of that day. Hitting my head gave me four fracture lines on my skull, bleeding in my brain, in the ambulance i suffered a grand mal seizure and another seizure on the way to the hospital. Machines were breathing for me at one point. The point of me writing this is to hopefully help someone else and to explain that no matter what happens, NEVER give up.

The moon is always facing us and moving away at an inch and a half a year and I realize now that it is backing away slowly.

THINGS A PRESIDENT CANNOT DO:
Reverse any Supreme Court decisionÂ
This includes Obergefell v. Hodges, which made same-sex marriage a constitutional right; Whole Womanâs Health v. Hellerstedt, which reaffirmed a womanâs right to choose first articulated in Roe v. Wade, another Supreme Court case. Grutter v. Bollinger, which instituted affirmative action, the entire body of Civil Rights case law, plus anything related to due process, including the right of minors to due process, your right to an attorney, Miranda rights, inadmissible evidence, etc.
(Even if Trump appoints the worst possible SC nominee, they still canât reverse any of these decisions without a really significant case coming before the Court with new facts, and then they have to write an opinion stating how this case is different than that other caseâŚitâs unlikely to happen.)
Write law or repeal any existing law
While traditionally, presidents have exerted influence on the legislative agenda (see, Obamaâs role in advancing and promoting the Affordable Care Act) they cannot actually write or pass legislation. Bills, joint resolutions, concurrent resolutions, and simple resolutions must be introduced in the House by a Representative.
Presidents cannot strike down law. Only Congress can repeal laws, and only the Supreme Court can strike them down as unconstitutional.
Presidential influence is just thatâinfluence.
(And ifâfor exampleâyou are hated by 95% of the party you joined last week, and burned all your goddamn bridges by insulting them at various points in your campaignâŚ..theyâre unlikely to partner with you in crafting legislation.)
Make any law or declaration that infringes in any way on the rights of the states
So in the US, most of the rights are reserved to the states. You name it, itâs a state-run power. Criminal procedure and law? States. Medicare and Medicaid? States. The definition of marriage? States. Insurance, health departments, housing, unemployment benefits, public education, all these are state programs. And the president cannot infringe on those powers given to the states.
(This is why down-ticket voting is so important, because Mike Pence as governor of Indiana had 800x the power heâs going to have as VP.)
Declare war.
This one is the most complicated, because with the advent of our âconflictsâ in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. there has been a significant shift in the articulation of the war doctrine, and it is one of the least restricted of the presidentâs ârestrictedâ powers. But, despite all that, a president still has no power to declare war.
Unilaterally appoint heads of administrative departments
Unilaterally make treaties with foreign nations
Essentially, while presidents have a lot of power, itâs mostly unofficialâthey canât make sweeping laws, they canât overturn existing rights, the most they can do is refuse to enforce them (which is absolutely a threat! and a problem!) but we arenât electing de facto royalty here.
why do trump supporters say they like trump cause he âsays whats on his mindâ⌠like no shit man, i have people in my tumblr inbox who say whats on their mind all the time. i had a guy send me a message that said âvape on my dickâ. thats whats on their mind and they said it. iâm not like âoh man⌠dude⌠lead usâŚâ
