Oasis | Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Little Talks | Serena&Logan
It was turning into more of a game now. Who could get what out of the other, who could get the other one to break first. Logan didn’t know if that was good or bad anymore. Maybe earlier, he would have been fine with the banter. It would have been strange, but he would have been okay with it. But now, when he had questions that he wanted answered? He didn’t know how he felt about this. Because he was curious. So very curious about what was going through her mind. He had an idea, but he wanted to hear it. Selfishly, he wanted to hear her say it all out loud. And now he wasn’t sure what to do. So Logan didn’t reply at first, waiting until she spoke again. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up at her touch, and he couldn’t help tracing his tongue lightly over his lips. The question played in his mind for a while. It could get one of two reactions, and he wasn’t sure which one scared him more. But before he could decide whether or not it was a good idea to actually say what was on his mind, the words slipped out, his voice still low. “What would you do if I kissed you right now?”
Logan could ask all he wanted, but Serena refused to finish that particular sentence. But then he asked something different. Something that caught her completely off guard. So off guard that she even froze. Every muscle in her body was tense. Where in the world did that come from? Had that what had been running through his mind the whole time? Or was it a joke, a trick? Something devised to get one up on her. Have an edge, the upper hand. Her mind was racing, trying to figure out how they could have gone from hating each other to this in such a short period of time. Not only was her mind racing, but her heart was too. She has suddenly become very nervous and aware of every little action she made. After a minute or two, she finally tried replying, but unsuccessfully."I.." being the only coherent thing escaping her lips. Clearing her throat, she took in a deep breath before muttering "I.. I don't know." What did he want her to say? Did he want a specific answer? Because she really didn't know what she'd do. Would she get mad at him? Pull away? Or would she kiss him back? But then become angry at herself for succumbing to her feelings? At this point though, Serena was certain that if he did kiss her, she would be unable to react in any negative way.
If everyone is dead
If everyone died, would it really be a satisfactory win?
Yes, because I'm still the winner.
If everyone is dead
How about 30% to 70%? Because I’m a nice person, I’ll let you have the 70%.
Aww, you're sweet.
If everyone is dead
Nice to see you too.
You know I didn't mean it really!
If everyone is dead
Sorry to burst your bubble S, but I’m still alive and kicking!
Dammit!
If everyone is dead
I think we’re the only survivors. We can split the earnings, yeah?
As long as its 10% to 90%. I call having 90%!
If everyone is dead
Does that mean I win?
No, I don't believe you when you say you don't need me anymore. So don't pretend to not love me at all.

Little Talks | Serena&Logan
Logan was curious. Curious about what she was going to say, curious about how she was going to say it. He was wondering about how she’d justify what she had said, about being the same. It was true that part of him wanted to hear what she had to say just because he knew that her telling him would spare him from having to discover it all for himself. From finding out, by himself, what things had changed. Because he didn’t know how he would fare through all of that. He had gotten so attached to her and still was, even if he himself didn’t want to admit it. So maybe being reassured would calm the nerves he wasn’t even aware had surfaced until now. The other part of his was so very aware of how exactly she would go about proving to him that she was the same. Her voice and their proximity and everything in between made him so. When she spoke he listened, not reacting in the slightest. It was only after the slip-up that he just caught, and after she was even closer with her hands in his hair, that he made any sort of movement. Something stirred inside of him, and his voice was low, almost a possessive growl. “Do you really know what you’re getting yourself into, Serena?” Logan said it as he leaned forward so his breath was ghosting over her lips, his grip on her waist tightening. “Tell me, though. I’m still the one you’ve…what?”
Serena, well, hoped that he believed her. That he didn't think she was just saying these things. Because she wasn't. She really hadn't changed. And it was like she needed him to believe it. Her breath caught slightly as she felt Logan's own breath against her lips and his grip tighten. But she didn't let it show. She just bit down on her bottom lip softly and smiled before replying. "Oh Logan, I know exactly what I'm getting myself into." Her voice was as low has his. Did she? What exactly was she getting herself into? What was she in now? She hadn't a clue. But it was better than before. This situation. She finally didn't feel vulnerable anymore. They were equal now. Past discussing feelings. So that's one reason she wouldn't finish her sentence. She had said it enough times already and didn't want to repeat herself. Besides, she liked this. It was fun, almost. Shaking her head, she began tracing invisible patterns softly on the back of his neck with the fingers that weren't in his hair. "You're just going to have to let your imagination finish that one off." Of course he noticed her slip up. He'd noticed every slip up she'd made so far. She'd have to take more care. Not that there was anything left to hide, she'd practically confessed everything to him.

He was being obvious now. Logan realized that, realized that he really should stop. At least be able to look back up at her eyes for longer. But mentally willing yourself to do something and physically doing it were two entirely different things, and at this point? He really wasn't getting anywhere. Physically. When she finally responded, he tilted his head to the side, wondering what the appropriate thing was to say from his end. Was every part of her still the same? Somehow, he found that hard to believe. The stuff they had been through had to have changed her somehow. He knew that he changed him. Made him, at least from a relationship standpoint, all the more interested in hookups, and solely hookups. He couldn't let himself fall for someone again, which in turn made him seem more closed off half of the time. Not to mention how he threw himself into various things, searching for distractions. One of which happened to be football, yeah, like he was telling her earlier. And that was two things, off the top of his head. So she had to have something different about her. She had to. Her movement made him suddenly vary wary, and the whisper in his ear coupled with her lips against his cheek made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Did she have any idea what she was doing to him? “Serena…” Logan didn't even recognize his voice at first, didn't recognize it being so strangled. Quickly, he cleared his throat, lowering his voice. "Fine. Prove it."
Serena took a moment to think about everything that made her, her. She thought about all her habits. Like how she couldn't function if she didn't get her morning coffee. Her nightly routine. How everything had to be straight and symmetrical. Those hadn't changed one bit. "Well, I'm still slightly arrogant. Naive. Loyal. Still brilliant when it comes to secret keeping," she said, giving a shrug. Now she was just listing her personality traits. "I've still got my unique sense of humour. My favourite animal is still an owl. I'm still bad at Math.." It was almost insisting, the way she was saying these things. Like she needed him to believe that she hadn't changed. If this conversation was happening just after their break up, then there'd be nothing the same. It took her weeks, months even, to get back to her old self. Her friends started to get annoyed after a while. But of course, they didn't know what she did. They thought it was all him. "I still care about my family and friends more than anything and you're still the one I've-" She broke off then, giving a cough and ran a hand through her hair awkwardly, looking down. That was a slip up. A big one. But it was true. He was the only one she's ever loved. Sure, over the time there'd been some other boys. One or two in a drunken haze. But no relationships. Or any sort of close contact after the one time. That was one thing that had changed. She'd gone from being someone that got easily attached, liked having close attachments to people, to someone that preferred to be alone. Smiling, smirking almost, she wrapped her arms around his neck, bringing their bodies into contact. One hand was in his hair, her fingers brushing through it. "I guess you'll have to work out what else is the same yourself," Serena muttered, hoping this covered up the slip up.
