So you don't think B responding to that rude fan on J's IG post was classy? True she wasn't tagged or anything so best to just ignore to make a bigger deal out of it....wonder what J thought about her responding?
No, I don’t think it was classy or wise. It was a personal attack on a fan (“you should be a better person”) who didn’t attack her personally, and it just called more attention to the opinion that the person expressed. She wasn’t tagged and it wasn’t even on her post so it made her seem like a petty, jealous stalker, trolling his comments for drama. Comments like that are just part of being a public figure (Sharna handles them regularly with grace and poise) and that person is obviously a fan of J and as such is part of the reason he is even able to have this job that likely pays for her and her dog to fly first class around the country to watch him race and be a Real Houswife of Indy the majority of the rest of the time. It may be rude to make such a comment when he is in a relationship with someone else but it would be better for her to just ignore it or ask him to delete it than to lash out and show that she is sensitive about the issue (Why? Is there some truth to the speculation?) or that she even gives a shit what strangers say about her boyfriend’s personal life. Be a better person, Becky. 🤷🏻♀️

Yes… the fan commented “You should be with Sharna” and B tagged the person and said “You should be a better person.” J ended up deleting both comments. It was in the comments on his pic of her, himself, and Conor at a wedding. Classy.
Interesting because if they were in a truly solid relationship, I don't think a SM comment would have invoked that response from her. Yes, obviously that comment could hurt, but not responding to that comment at all would have drawn less attention to that matter.
It goes to show that the subjects of DWTS and S are still quite touchy for B. 🤔
What do you think the chances are that J&S are just not that close anymore? That distance and other issues have made their friendship just of casual friends? Know that S says nice things about him publicly (less than J) but she always says nice things about former partners (Bonner being the exception). I love Antonio, love Noah, etc...
Nope. I think that even if they didn’t speak for a while due to being busy, jealous girlfriends, etc, they would never become “casual friends.” They know and care about each other far to much for that to ever go away, IMO. That kind of intimacy doesn’t just evaporate.

Highlight #3
Also known as the most important highlight (if you’re me) for reasons that should be obvious. First of all, I met Sharna at the meet and greet last time but it was soooo quick. This time, getting to see her outside and actually take a breath and realize it was Sharna Burgess in the flesh right in front of me, was totally surreal.
So when I met her out at the buses, this was our conversation word for word:
Me: “I have to tell you. I’ve been watching the show since the very beginning and you and James are my absolute favorites ever! Everything you did was just amazing.”
Sharna: “Aww. Thank you! He was my favorite too!” *bonus nose crinkle smile*
Me: “Good. He should be.”
Sharna: “I love that man.”

26. How do their friends feel about their relationship? Their families?
Their family and friends love them together. In fact, they were rooting for them even when they were both being stubborn and trying to run from their feelings. Peta was the one who convince Sharna to take the chance because she was ready and Conor practically begged for James to “pull his head out of his ass” and go for it. They were all very supportive of their relationship. James is very welcome in the dance world and Sharna is adored by the Indycar community. The cast of DWTS teased them alot especially in the fall when James would come to visit her. Because of DWTSJ she’s able to spend alot more time with him during his race season, which makes his racing buddies really happy because they love having her around. James’ parents are also very fond of Sharna; they have been since their season together. They love how happy she makes him and look forward to whenever the two come to visit during the holidays. Sharna’s mom constantly thanks James for being the perfect man for her, and he likes to joke that he tries his best to be perfect because it’s what she deserves.
40. Any special memories? Do they have a special place they like to go to?
James will never forget how it felt to dance that freestyle with her. He remembers how she cried when they were rewatching their camera blocking of it because of how proud she was of him. Sharna still considers his firesuit one of the most special gifts she’s ever received. They love to visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art because that’s one of the places he took her on their first official date. Another place that’s very special to them is the central canal in downtown Indy. He took her there after dating for a little over a year and he told her some kind of unbelievable statistic about the bridge. She told him she didn’t believe him and he told her that facts are facts. When she asked if he had any more to share, he casually shrugged responded, “I want to marry you,” and as a joke kept walking without looking at her reaction. He turned around and she had her hands over her mouth but he could still tell how big her smile was through her eyes.

3. Are they open about their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection?
They only told their close friends and family at first, and they didn’t do any kind of announcement for the public or anything. They just let people start catching on and only confirmed it when they were asked. They’re somewhat private with their relationship, but they don’t mind light PDA. James mostly does the Instagram posts and S They tried to have no PDA at first, but Sharna is such a touchy feely person and it’s not like he’s capable of keeping his hands off her either.
12. Is there a wedding? What was the proposal like? Any kind of honeymoon?
Lmao of course there’s a wedding! I have a couple headcannons about what the proposal was like, since I already described one in this post, I’ll go ahead and share another. They had been dating for about a year and a half so this would be around the summer time. She signed up to go on the summer tour because she took the winter one off to spend more time with him. He was a little resigned about it, mostly because it was going to be one of the first times they’d be long distance since the fall season, but he would never be the one to stop her from going. She had alot of confidence in their relationship and didn’t think it would be too bad to be apart from him for almost three months. It wasn’t, for the most part, they texted and called each other often, but it was completely different especially since she was surrounded by couples and it reminded her of how much she missed him. It also didn’t help that some of the other pros’ significant others would visit them during the tour and he never seemed to have the chance. He missed her significantly as well, and it started giving him crazy ideas.
He’d become pretty good friends with Peta, and she had told him that if he ever started getting these thoughts, to give her a call, so he did. She was beyond excited and told him to buy a ring as soon as possible and to start planning out how he would do it. This made him extremely nervous because he knew he’d want to propose as soon as he saw her again, so he started holding off visiting her on tour until he had made sure he knew exactly what he would do. He waited until she had a week off to see her, but he just happened to catch her on the wrong day. All her frustrations had finally caught up with her and she was hot tempered with him during dinner. This caught him off guard because he was already stressed about the ring in his pocket and she wasn’t making it any easier. After one more snide remark from her he finally asked her what the matter was and she told him how pissed off she was because he hadn’t come visit her on tour, even though she knew she was being ridiculous and illogical.
“Is it always going to be James Hinchcliffe: Indycar Driver, my boyfriend?!” She did a ranking motion with her hands.
His jaw dropped, “That’s completely unfair and you know it.”
“Is it?!”
“Yes! You knew exactly what we were getting into when we first started this! Don’t you think it sucks for me that you don’t get to come to my races for a couple months? But I try not to hold it against you because I love you.”
She fell silent. He started packing up his jacket and got ready to leave, “You’ve always known who I was… and don’t act as if it hasn’t always been,” he did the same ranking motion as her “Sharna Burgess: Professional dancer, my girlfriend.”
She felt as if a rug had been pulled from underneath her feet. What the hell were you thinking?! You barely get to see him and this is what you do? She called Peta later that night, “Hey babe! Aww are those tears of joy I hear?” Sharna sniffled and told her everything that happened and Peta took a minute to respond. “Well, at least you know how crazy you are… of course you were being unfair! What were you thinking?”
“I wasn’t thinking! God, I was so stressed and frustrated that I took I out on him.”
“Well, obviously you need to apologize.”
She asked to see him again the next day, and she immediately hugged him when he walked through the door and said sorry several times. She told him that she just really really missed him and that everything she said was out of line and that she shouldn’t have accused him of being a bad boyfriend. He hadn’t said anything for a while and she looked at him but couldn’t read his expression.
“James? I know you must be mad, please say something…”
He took her to the dining table and motioned for her to sit before he began talking. He took a deep breath, “I thought about what you said, and you’re right… I don’t think I’ve been putting as much effort into our relationship and that’s my fault. You weren’t wrong when you accused me of missing tour dates on purpose. I was just scared and nervous…”
She didn’t know where he was going with this and it made her anxious, “what are you saying?”
“I’ve been doing alot of thinking… and last night… what you said… it made me realize I don’t want to be James Hinchcliffe: Indycar driver, your boyfriend anymore…”
She felt her heart stop and for a moment she sort of blanked out, lost in her thoughts. Had she actually ruined this? He can’t actually be giving up this fast… His words brought her back, “…so I guess what I’m trying to say is, I want to be James Hinchcliffe: Your fiance and eventually your husband if you’d let me. And then Indycar driver of course,” he chuckled lightly. He saw her staring at him, mouth slightly open. “Sharna? Are you okay?”
“What?” Was all she could manage to say.
“I just proposed to you, sweetheart. Look! I have a ring and everything!” He pulled the velvet box out of his pocket and before he could fully turn back at her she was kissing him, saying “yes” between each one.
Their wedding was ridiculously stressful for her up until the actual, when all she felt was peace and excitement. It was the opposite for him, he was the one constantly calming her down during the planning and preparations but right before the wedding he was sweating like crazy. I’m not gonna dive into all the wedding details because that would take forever, but it was very classy and beautiful. They day was magical and filled with love. Think Post Ranch Inn or the Adamson House in California. Their vows looked a little something like this:
“I’m gonna make this quick before you’re able to change your mind.”“That’s never gonna happen”“The first time we met, we became dance partners, by force. The first time I made you laugh, all I wanted was to hear it over and over again. And the first time we kissed, I knew, you were the person I was meant to kiss for the rest of my life. Now you’re standing here, in front of all our friends and family, agreeing to be my wife. I still don’t how I got so lucky. I’m looking at you… and I can barely breathe. My heart feels like it’s about to explode. It’s jumping with joy at the thought of waking up and going to sleep next to you everyday from now on. As long as I have you by my side, I’ll have a reason to smile and something to be thankful for. Sharna Burgess, I promise to spend the rest of my days, making you laugh, wiping away your tears, being someone you can hold on to, treating you like a queen, driving you crazy, and being your dance partner, by choice. I love you, my sunshine, with everything I have, forever and always. “James, before you came into my life, I thought I knew what it felt like to be in love. But you show me what it really feels like every day I’m with you. You accept me for all I am and you build me up higher than I ever thought I could reach. You make me laugh and inspire me to be the best version of myself. You’re the reason my days are brighter than they’ve ever been before. I promise, to inspire you just as much, to pick you up when you fall, to laugh at your jokes even when no one else is, and to always be there to cheer you on. James Hinchliffe, thank you for giving me more love than I ever thought I deserved; thank you for helping me touch the sky. I love you so much more than I can describe even with my all my ‘Sharna-isms’. You always call me sunshine, but I want you to know that you are the light of my life and I am yours forever and always, my love.”
For their honeymoon, it was his idea that they flew back with her mom to Australia so that he could meet the rest of her family who couldn’t attend the wedding. She loved being to show him around and how welcoming her family was to him.
27. Do they have kids? Grow old together? Split up?
Yep, I’d like to think that they have two kids and their son joined ballet and their daughter loves sitting with James in the garage while he works on the car. James taught his son a couple steps from the waltz and had him ask Sharna to dance, she thinks it’s one of the most precious things that’s ever happened to her. Their daughter is adored at the race track, she even has her own little headset and a checkered flag she waves when she sees daddy’s car. They do grow old with each other, and of course they do not split up, not in my crazy mind they don’t.

9. Do they discuss big issues? Religion? Marriage? Children? Death?
They discuss issues more so when they arise, if that makes sense. It’s not really something they sit down and plan to discuss, given their go with the flow nature how easy going they both are, but if need be, they will definitely have a conversation about it. Religion isn’t really much of a big deal for them, so this isn’t exactly something they’ve ever discussed, because while they do believe in some sort of higher power, they think that the choices they make are what leads them to success and happiness. As for marriage and children, Sharna’s never been the one to be shy about how much she wanted these things someday. During the first few months of their relationship, she had been worried that she and James weren’t on the same page about this. He didn’t seem to be fully ready to settle down and have kids but as the time passed he realized one day that he was. They were over at Maks and Peta’s for dinner and while he chatted with them in the kitchen, he could see her in the living room playing with Shai. He noticed how bright her smile and her eyes were and that’s when he figured out that maybe he wanted to have a life like this with her all along. After that, he could stop imagining their lives together as husband and wife, and the little boy and girl that they would hopefully have together. Fast forward several years down, they finally did get married and had a three year old son and a six month old daughter. He tried to convince himself that he would still be able to race, even though Sharna was more terrified of losing him now than she ever was before. She constantly expressed her concerns to him, but he was always stubborn, to her dismay. It wasn’t until Sharna, herself, got into a minor car accident with her son that he was able to see things from her point of view. He stopped being a Indycar Driver, but was able to easily get a job as a Crew Chief and hopes to own his own Indycar team one day.
29. How do they handle disasters or emergencies? Minor injuries? Sickness?
Sharna is very lax about planning for natural disasters, which gives James major anxiety. When he first moved in with her, there came a point when he brought home several packs of water bottles. She asked him what they were for and he said that they should replace the water in her emergency kit. You would not believe the look on his face when she asked him why they needed one in the first place. Now, he has a whole escape plan, and an emergency kit for them and the dogs, in case anything ever happens. She was pretty pissed one night when he woke her up, only for her to find out ”that it was only a drill.”
Minor injuries don’t really affect them too much, given their jobs. He was also disappointed when he saw that her idea of a first aid kit was a box of band-aids, some gauze (without gauze tape), and some alcohol pads. Rest assured, he went out and bought her a real first aid kit that same day. Sometimes James likes to pretend he’s “extra sore” from a race so she gives him a nice massage before bed. During the season, he likes to draw her baths so she can also soothe her muscles after a long day of practice.
Sharna is really good at waiting until the last minute to prevent any diseases. He always chastises about over exerting herself and skipping meals. Minor colds are usually nothing for her, but during her off season, she ended up with a really bad flu. James had to practically wait on her hand and foot and nurse her back to health with his mom’s famous chicken noodle soup recipe. He made her get a flu shot the next year because, “what the hell?! You could have prevented being bedridden for almost a week??”
31. Do they finish each other’s sentences? Pick up any phrases or habits from each other? Know when the other is hiding something?
Not only do they finish each other’s sentences, but it’s like they also know what the other is thinking. Sometimes if creeps out their friends when they do it in front of them especially because they’ve gotten into the habit of high-fiving when ever they say the same thing at the same time. They do pick up phrases and habits from each other. She’s the reason he drinks espresso and he’s even starting to pick up Aussie slang from her. Sometimes James jumbles his words together and he like to playfully blame her. James is a leg shaker, and at first she thought it kind of annoying, but she’s found that she’s starting to do it to. Both of them are usually good at hiding surprises especially James. As far as secrets, they don’t really hide many things from each other, because they consider communication to be one of the most important things in their relationship. They’re both pretty simpatico, so it’s easy for them to read each other’s emotions even when they try to hide them.
Timing
Sharna’s phone chimed, waking her up rather abruptly. It was dark out and the time on her phone was 11:46. She couldn’t have been asleep for very long. She had a text from Jenna.

There was also a picture. Sharna unlocked her phone and quickly tapped on the picture to make it bigger, feeling slightly nervous. The first word she saw was “Hinchcliffe” and that was followed by “breaks.” Her insides flipped over and in the infinitesimal amount of time it took for her brain to register the next three words, she ran through a list, not for the first time, of all her greatest fears.
Neck? Spine? Skull?
She thought maybe she was still asleep when she finally read the entire sentence. Though it wasn’t so much a sentence, she now realized, but the headline of an article Jenna had taken a screenshot of and sent to her. She was so confused, she actually pinched herself to make sure was awake. She was.
I had no idea, she finally sent back to Jenna. Did he send you that?!
No. I just saw it right now. He didn’t tell you?
Nope.
She wondered why. Why wouldn’t he have told her? Were they not the kind of friends who shared that information? Of course they were. Maybe it just happened. She tried to zoom in on the picture of the article to check the date. It was from just the day before, but that didn’t mean anything. She scanned her memory, thinking back to their most recent conversations. Had there been any signs of this?

1 How do they fall asleep? Wake up? Any daily rituals?
She’s always cold and she gets almost all the covers. He always slides one hand under all the covers and rests it lightly on her back. She doesn’t know how she ever fell asleep before he did that. She is not a morning person, but he loves getting up early. Sometimes he gets up and makes breakfast or gets some work done or does something else productive. Sometimes he just sits in bed and watches her sleep. Every time he does this, he swears he falls in love with her all over again. In the morning, he almost always has to wake her up as she turns off every alarm she sets on her phone and falls back asleep. One time he actually picked her up and carried her out of the bedroom and set her down on the kitchen table. She told him he spoiled her now because she was going to expect that every morning. He doesn’t do it all the time, but he does every once in a while to surprise her and make her laugh.
5 Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?
He definitely calls her “muffin” all the time. It started off as a joke every once in a while, but then it just stuck and she loves it. She sticks pretty exclusively to “babe” and “baby.” He calls her “baby” every once in a while and it makes her absolutely giddy, but she would never admit that to him. They also call each other “love” a lot.
39 Who initiated the relationship? Who kissed who first? When did they realize they were in love?
They both kind of initiated the relationship, but she kissed him first. When they were both suddenly and unexpectedly single at the same time, they were each other’s first thought. She knew it would be harder for him coming out of a serious long-term relationship. She felt a little guilty about it, but she was sure of how she felt and she quickly made it clear to him that she wanted to be with him, but not until he was absolutely sure he was ready and not a moment sooner. When he came to her in a big romantic gesture “knocking on your door at midnight to confess my feelings” kinda way, he looked terrified, but told her he knew what he wanted and he wanted to be with her and he wanted to fight for them. She didn’t say anything. She just kissed him and that was that. Even though it wasn’t until much later when they finally found their way back to each other, that night they realized they had both fallen in love with each other in the exact same moment: when he gave her his fire suit.

People need to understand that the greatest proof of their chemistry is BWTGH behavior towards Sharna. The only reason she acts like that is because of the chemistry J & S developed. Because if I'm not mistaken she seemed nice at the beginning, before mid season where she unfollowed S and disappeared until that finale 👌🏻

There are a multitude of examples I can give for the true pure chemistry between them, friendly or otherwise. But the aboutface that BWTGH did out of freaking nowhere and unfollowing and unliking and only liking posts without her tagged or of Laurie and val, the unfollowing of all people associated with DWTS etc is better than everything.
This is absolutely 100% the most accurate thing ever. Seriously. Though honestly I sometimes almost admire BWTGH because if I had been her seeing the chemistry between them, I would have been long gone. Like sometimes I’m still surprised that she actually stuck around.
I’m 100% the same way. I would have walked to be honest.
