as a Regular Guy who happens to read ~300 books a year i feel the particular responsibility to refuse the bookfluencer industrial complex and remind people that identity as a reader is based solely on whether or not you happen to enjoy pleasure reading, not achieving some numerical goal or having the hottest take
Here's my CV, it contains all of my contact data, relevant experience and education, I took special care to make it look clean and profesional and yet not longer than 2 pages so you don't get bored of doing your job after reading my name and dismiss my profile halfway. Yes ok, here is all of that same info I already put on my CV again, but written manually in a thousand little fields on the same webpage you told me to upload my CV in, which contains the same information but better explained and more accurate to my profile. oh you also want me to write you a personalised little love letter? are you sure? cant the AI just reject me from my CV alone? no? Should we meet up behind the school building after class so I can give you a handwritten copy of my CV covered in glitter?? Do you promise to read it thoroughly and think about it???

Paul Jones working on one of his studios zombie dogs for Resident Evil Afterlife.
"The shift from the Afro-Caribbean zombie to the U.S. zombie is clear: in Caribbean folklore, people are scared of becoming zombies, whereas in U.S. narratives people are scared of zombies. This shift is significant because it maps the movement from the zombie as victim (Caribbean) to the zombie as an aggressive and terrifying monster who consumes human flesh (U.S.). In Haitian folklore, for instance, zombies do not physically threaten people; rather, the threat comes from the voduon practice whereby the sorcerer (master) subjugates the individual by robbing the victim of free will, language and cognition. The zombie is enslaved."
