I still can't believe that (as recently raised on her unhinged twitter) her INTENDED read on the blood/culture conflict in the books WAS ACTUALLY "well of course the traditional Purebloods are better, they just shouldn't rub it in the muggleborns' faces rudely like that! It's always OK to have your own opinion and this seems like a reasonable take, tbh. I've seen this post on my dash a couple times and tbh I'm waiting for someone to post screenshots of the tweets so I can make my own decision, because while I don't doubt others' interpretations, I'm just not comfortable reblogging them without the source info to give everyone (including myself) the option to interpret it (and I'm not on twitter so I can't find it myself since you can't go on without a login anymore). Even if we agree on a general perception of something, having the source material available means different people have the ability to see different kinds of nuance.

I don't know I feel like for a fandom that complains a lot about non-canon works like ATYD being treated like canon while the actual canon text is often referenced but not looked at by too many people in posts and thus misinterpreted or misquoted, we also take for granted that we can throw out a subjective opinion and it'll be treated like fact and that's somehow OK if it means validation (not saying anyone else on this post did this, just making a general statement about what I've been seeing for a while). And if we ask for a source or show one there's a good chance people will get angry and mean, so we often don't. I fully expect someone to get mad at me for even pointing this out, or for saying I'd like to see the tweet in question so I can make my own decision - even though that's not about doubting anyone else or disagreeing with them, but about adhering to my own principles of wanting to make my own decisions and form my own thoughts instead of accepting someone else's without question, especially a stranger on the internet.
