It's unusual for me to be posting this at such an odd time (I shouldn't even be online right now - it's nighttime where I am), but I want to let you know that Jacklyn Uweh, Smosh's former cast member and current NYC-based comedy performer, has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help recover from a recent fire that got her and many other households displaced.
While she herself is safe along with her two cats, most of her living space and belongings (clothing, furniture etc.) were unfortunately lost in the fire. That being said, she is now raising US$8,000, which she'll use to replace and buy essential household items as well as get her back on her feet.
I've already donated $10 to Jackie's campaign, and I'm glad I found out about it very early - I saw her post the link to it less than an hour ago. "100 percent" and "We smashed that" keep rotating through my head
S1
I played this in the background until the moment Tom revealed he and Alex were dating, then I started paying attention
Tom was one of the most entertaining cast members, I wish he’d stayed longer
Wilf was a likable traitor. I rooted for him, but I completely understand why Kieran hit back at him as he left. Kieran got dealt such a bad hand and really had no chance
I was kinda meh on the winning Faithfuls but was fine with the ending, though in hindsight I would have preferred if Wilf had won. I just felt like he actively did a lot more that season. Bro was grinding and STRESSED out the whole time. I felt stressed for him
Alex is so gorgeous omg. I thought she was going to accept the traitors' invite but I understood why she refused
The tasks were a bit boring and felt like padding. My favorite was the gross shack escape room, I felt real tension during that one
Amanda was so smart and I would have been cool with her winning
S2
I liked Claudia more this season, I felt like she had more presence and her "pet" owl (not sure if actually hers) is so cute
This was flipped for me, in S1 I was hooked from Ep 4 to the finale but for this one, I was into it until the last 4 episodes which felt like a grind
Much better tasks, my favorite was the arrows and glass
Paul was my fave for most of this season. He was so comically evil, but funnier and more calm than Tom. Great exit
The whole “Paul is Diane’s son! No wait, Ross is!” running gag was hilarious
Ross turned out to be a dud, but his best moment was winking at the camera in the car. The way his end played out felt like wasted potential. After all that build up with him plotting revenge, I was rooting for him to take down Harry but Ross blew it!! I guess that proves this show isn’t super scripted
Harry played the best traitor game so far, but I found him dull and increasingly unlikable. After Paul got banished the show became less fun, because Harry was just a shark like 😐 and I wanted him to feel more heat, but I feel like he mostly got lucky and skated on his looks
The finale was unpleasant to me. I get that you’re supposed to be ruthless, but to me Paul, Tom, and Amanda were much more fun to watch, and Wilf was way more sympathetic. I would have been cool with Wilf and/or Amanda winning, but Harry winning felt kind of gross to me 😕
I kept yelling at my screen that Mollie was ultra dense about Harry at the very end, but then I remembered she was very young, sheltered, and kind. I don't think she deserved to win, but she doesn’t deserve hate either, and I hope she had a lot of support after the show. I would never speak to Harry after that
I was really rooting for Jaz to win at the end, and he was brilliant and tried his best. But I do think he unfortunately wasn’t as persuasive when he needed to be. His last play to try to convince Mollie especially felt so understated and short. Sky high INT but low CHA unfortunately. Love the Jazatha Christie meme though lol
Jasmine became one of my faves later on, if not Paul then I wanted her and Jaz to win
Zack was soooooo annoying to me. I wanted him gone from Day 1 and he basically handed Harry his win
Andrew was kinda meh to me at the start, but I really sympathized with him since he got recruited, I think he hated being a villain 😔
I honestly felt like the Traitors mostly carried this season and most of the Faithfuls were kind of lost, like the Traitors were the ones handing each other over to the Faithfuls lol
