Everyone in heaven is Catholic

This isn't to suggest that only Catholics go to heaven. But in heaven, confusion and competing interpretations cannot exist. There can only be perfect clarity and the fullness of truth.

The Catholic Church alone has guarded the truth for two thousand years: the sacraments, the communion of saints, the motherhood of Mary, the authority Christ gave his apostles and their successors, and the union of justice and mercy, faith and reason, Scripture and Tradition.

In that sense, heaven is perfectly Catholic. Universal, sacramental, ordered toward worship, filled with saints, and forever centered on the Lamb.

Called to chastity

Advent isn't just a preparation for the Nativity. It is a summons to renewed purity of heart.

Every man, whether married, single, or consecrated, is called to the virtue of chastity according to his state in life. And in this season, the Church sets before us the quiet strength of St. Joseph, Mary's "most chaste spouse," as our model and protector.

St. Joseph lived with a purity rooted in obedience, discipline, and sacrificial love. His example calls all men to order, restraint, and fidelity, virtues sorely needed in our time.

This Advent, join us in recommitting ourselves to chastity, begging the intercession of St. Joseph that we may live our vocations with integrity, self-mastery, and holiness.

Blessing the work of our hands

In the middle of an ordinary workday, Fr. Christopher stops by to bless a new venture: a woodworking business run by Serviam 2357 brothers. These men aren't cloistered monks or other religious. Our vocation is to live in the world while sanctifying it. Every nail driven, every tool hung, and every board sanded smooth becomes an offering when ordered to Christ.

Serviam 2357 isn't only about prayer in the chapel. It's about prayer in the workshop, the storefront, and in the public square. Our craft, our talents, and our discipline are made holy by the blessing of the Church and the resolve to live every moment as prayer.

Sentinels of the Sacred

Serviam 2357 places men exactly where they’re needed, whether in the quiet of the cloister or the grime of the city street. And in either place, our discipline holds. Our posture doesn’t waver. Our faith stays fixed.

These two brothers aren’t in some monastery tucked away in the hills. They’re in the thick of a decayed and desecrated downtown. Behind them rises a battered but still-beautiful Gothic church, its tabernacle intact, its confessionals still open.

They’re not going anywhere.

Because the sacraments must remain accessible. Because grace must be guarded. Because tradition doesn’t abandon its outposts, even when the neighborhood does.

A handshake changes everything

I used to think religious guys were just repressed. Angry. Bitter. In denial. Like they were screaming at the world to drown out whatever they were afraid of in themselves.

Then I met Brother Thomas at the parade, of all places.

He didn’t yell. I did. He didn’t argue. He just offered to pray for me. That made me furious. How dare he pity me? How dare he act like he knew something I didn’t?

Then he offered his hand. Just a handshake. Nothing more. Strength without aggression. Peace without compromise. Love that didn’t want anything back.

That was the last pride parade I ever went to. Now I wear black. Now I kneel. Now I pray for the ones who scream.
