First fish into the 125g! A small group of marble hatchets (I’ll definitely have to get another group later, but that was all the LFS had in stock) and a cutie snowball pleco :)

The first eggs on the spawning mop from the C volcanum! Not that they’ve ever needed a mop, but now I can attempt to raise them intentionally. The male in the pictures is actually one of the fry who’s just hit sexual maturity, and he’s so beautiful. I also spotted another new baby during the water change today, which makes a minimum of 4 who’ve survived with the adults without any intervention. The father never comes to the front of the tank unless there’s food, so it’s nice to be able to see a male, for once!

The “big” tank is doing well! Still dealing with the first round of diatoms and algae but it should clear up after the cycle is complete and I do some serious water changes. Lots of runners and plant growth already!

Let’s talk about one thing that sometimes bothers me when I see pictures of tanks… You see I removed the background because it was falling apart and I need to fix it. And personally I feel like the tank looks 100% worse without a dark background?

So my hot tip is to always put something up back there. It can be a dark piece of paper or a black cloth, nothing expensive… just whatever is working for you to cover up the wallpaper or cables and tubes, if you feel about that like me.
