Welcome to Seris's Zine Scene! This is going to be the designated place where @tixdixl coordinates and publishes collaborative zines! Fan Zines, Art Zines, Writing Zines - any Zine they feel fits their current scene. And this post? Well, this will serve as the introduction and the hub for any of the zine happenings that occur on this blog. Expect it to change and update as things evolve!
As we close in on our final month leading up to the release of the Stained fanzine, I have been mulling over a few ideas for another TWST fanzine to organize after it's been released. I'm curious if folks would be interested in contributing to any of the following themes:
Potential TWST Zine themes:
Non-Major Characters (i.e. side characters, event characters, etc)
One Specific Event (i.e. NMBC, Fairy Gala, Cloud Calling, etc)
Events (non-exclusive)
Book 7 Dreams
Not interested in contributing, but interested in seeing the final product!
hi hi! for one of the portfolio samples, could i send an excerpt of one of my existing fics? asking because i've published a fic about overblots in the past that's longer than the word limit but i believe has some parts that can be portfolio material on their own✌️
(fyi the google form currently has two required fields for samples but some of the contributor types listed as just requiring one sample not sure if that was on purpose :0 )
Hello! Thank you for the ask!
You absolutely can send in an exert from your fic as a writing sample. I think that's totally acceptable.
And thank you for bringing that to my attention. I'll make sure to get that fixed. ^^
hi! for the writing portfolio submission, can the extra 2 writing samples be from other fandoms? and do they have to be in the 500-3000 word limit? thank you for hosting this event! i can’t wait wait to apply :)))
Hello! Thank you for asking!
I think the biggest thing I am looking for is a good representation of what you aim to write. Having the subject matter be Twisted Wonderland would be better, simply because it guarantees that I know the context. However, I won't discount other writing samples if you believe it's the best representation of your work.
And yes, they do have to be within the word limit.
Stained. Forever changed. Overcome by agony, greed, pride - a number of various emotions, traumas, and turmoil - in a burst of lethal power. These are the Overblotters. The ones who command and change the world around them. The ones we as fans flock to in empathy and appreciation.
This Twisted Wonderland Fanzine aims to focus on Overblot: the characters that do; the stories encompassing it; the eruptions of emotions; the monsters it creates; the past that bubbling up behind; and those who are impacted by the actions committed during Overblot. With an aim of celebrating this game and its story, I am calling out to artists and writers alike to come together to capture the beauty, the horror, and the tragedy of the Overblotters.
If you are interested in applying to be a contributor for this fanzine, please take a look at the submission guidelines and application form below.
Before we go over the submission guidelines, I want to make sure that folks are aware that this is going to be a digital-only zine and it's not for profit. Nobody is getting paid for participation, and I'm not going to be putting money into making it either. This is a passion project of mine, and while I do want to create the best zine I can, please understand this is largely going to be a community oriented project, made solely by and for the love of the community and the game that we all care about.
Submission and Application Guidelines
All contributions must remain SFW/PG-13. This means that all pieces should not incorporate excessive gore, sexual content, etc. That said, emotional depth and darker tones/themes are encouraged. Just be mindful when creating your piece. If you are unsure about the limits or have any questions regarding the content of your submission, please do not hesitate to send asks in the ask box.
Only canon characters, locations, and events are permitted as subject matter. So long as it depicts Overblot somehow as the theme, go ham!
Shipping content will not be accepted in this zine.

Comic artists applying will be required to submit 1 fully realized example (between 1 and 7 pages in length) for review. Color is not required, but tones/shading of some kind is.
