Getting stronger every day!
Um, this is a surprise!
Zen Monkey Studios will be producing some officially-licensed ATLA and TLOK enamel pins. They’ve posted a few teaser pics, and the full spread will be available to buy NEXT WEEK! Assuming the Gaang side of things will include most of the main characters like the Krew.
It’s always nice to get merch years after something ends…
Update!
The kind folks at Zen Monkey Studios have provided us with some more info. The seven pins pictured above are the ones currently ready to go for sale next week. Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko will follow in a couple months.
And then they dropped THIS on us:
That’s right, after the first line, FUN PINS like Sokka’s iconic moment here will be on their way!!! 😍😍😍
Awesome! Probably Korra’s stink-eye pose? I doubt we’ll get it, but I kinda want Asami flat on her back with her legs in the air from after Varrick… Varricked. I love my dorky-ass engineer!
My Bea Arthur pumpkin!
This!!
When your wife is a chef and an otaku and this is your version of boudoir photos. 😂
This is where...
Though you are not blood, you are my family.
We've seen each other's lows at a time when we witnessed similar levels of hell in our pasts. We lived it. We survived it. Those tiny, few years were yet a brief flicker in a starry sky, but they aged us in ways that caught us off guard.
I have often come to your defense and I will always love you, but...
...I realize how little you have come to my defense and I wonder... which side would you choose? Would you look away if I was the one spat upon by those you hold as contemporaries? Would you rationalize it if those contemporaries harmed me or my wife merely for existing?
Deep in my heart, I knew the answer. I knew that you would hold it as a higher priority to be a pleaser among your crowd and remain silent. I knew you couldn't play both sides of the field when those ideals came together like the trite cliche of oil and water. What I didn't know was how long you could maintain the facade or how long I would convince myself to believe it.
Eventually, I found my answer. You thought I wouldn't discover it, but you were careless. Social media tells much more than you could ever fathom. I know that you're aware of what I discovered because your silence since then, your distance, speaks volumes.
I was disheartened and disappointed. I defended you when others wouldn't. I defended you when others shouldn't have. I gave you my understanding because I had seen your heart break when you felt isolated from others. I wanted to always give you that sense of belonging since I knew the comfort of empathy.
But I now know your stance and I'm relieved. I'm relieved that I no longer have to dupe myself into thinking, "That's not how she REALLY feels," or "That's not how she MEANS it..." because now I know those ARE your feelings. That IS what you mean. I'm not am acception to the rule. If that's how you feel about transgender people, so be it.
Still, I love you, but I think this is where we part ways for now.
I will always wish you well, but this is where our paths diverge. This is where I stop making excuses for you and I no longer feel obligated to come to your defense.
This is where I put up the velvet rope and feel at peace with it, and these are the last words I write about it.
Do you ever think that Prince Zuko sometimes had those moments alone when he whirled his top ponytail around like a helicopter?

I've Lost Some Friends
I've lost some friends because I spoke out instead of staying silent. I expressed extreme disappointment, concern, and uncertainty when Trump was elected. Some of my friends didn't like that. Some of my friends didn't like that my fears for my community were something I couldn't ignore. They didn't like that I stood up from the bench and dared to move from the sidelines. I know what they would've preferred. They would've preferred for me to be one of those silent trans guys. You know, the kind who rests on his laurels because he can get legally married. Isn't that enough? Aren't you equal now? Nevermind the fact that in most states, you can legally be fired for existing as part of the LGBT community. Nevermind the fact that our community is still targeted by hate crimes. Nevermind that trans people are much more likely to commit suicide or be murdered. Why can't I just be quiet, sit down, and act like everything is okay? I have a roof over my head, cars in my driveway, food in my stomach, and a great career. Why do I need to make any noise? Their naivete is evinced in those questions alone. If your community isn't faced with the aforementioned adversity, congratulations. Nevertheless, that does not come with the added privilege of deciding how other people should feel nor behave. Your privileges might be boundless, but that surely is not one of them. You are not entitled to that. My friends were not entitled to that. They didn't like that. Oh well.
The Letter
I've decided to write a letter to my dad in hopes of concisely explaining the following: I am transgender. I am a man. I've always been a man. This isn't something I decided overnight. This isn't a fad. This is me. It's important for me to be acknowledged as a man. It won't go away if we ignore it. It won't go away if you misgender me or call me by my dead name. I'm well-respected and recognized in the corporate world as a man. I am a damn good son. Having a trans son isn't something to cause shame. You didn't do anything wrong. Nobody made me this way. I was simply made this way. Now... where do I begin...?

Mother of Navy Vet Shot at 30 Times by Police Begs For Justice
This video was posted by the mother of India Kager, who was shot 30 times by the police. One more unheard story of a black woman executed by the police for nothing. Moreover, for a really long time Mass Media didn’t have any information about this case.
In September India Kager, a 27-year-old Navy veteran from College Park, Maryland, was sitting with her boyfriend and 4-month-old son, Roman.
Perry was a “person of interest” in a homicide, according to the police. They additionally claim that they had “confidential information” that he “was going to” commit a “violent crime.” But that’s about all they’re willing to say at this time to justify the incident.
Kager had nothing to do with her boyfriends crimes – past or future.
However, officers began firing rounds that killed both Perry and Kager, indiscriminately. The baby, however, managed to survive – no thanks to the police who sprayed bullets wildly a the car.
Police didn’t explain anything and no justice for her daughter happened, so she is begging for it.
God Help you.

Absolutely horrific.
The kid who always told me I was going to hell passed away.
I got the news that he died the other day. Who? The young man who, in junior high, told me I was going to hell every day at lunch. It was weird to get that news. His name was Judge. Ironic, but it was. And he wasn't a bad kid at all.
No, he didn't tell me I was going to hell in jest. He was actually quite cruel with his tone, his glare, and the intent behind his words. I grew up in a small town where a majority of the impressionable youth didn't know any better than to mimic the words from their trusted authority figures: parents, pastors, youth group leaders and elders, etc. Too bad for me, the Buddhist kid who was hiding in the closet.
I didn't see Judge as my bully. To be a bully, one must have a victim and I was far from that. I never felt victimized by Judge; just annoyed beyond belief.
Why am I bringing any of this to light? Well... the treatment of the small-town Christian kids is what permanently shoved me away from Christianity for good. Unfortunately, the memory of Judge is one of the first things that comes back to me. Judge is part of the straw that broke the camel's back and tainted my imagine of Christianity for years and years to come.
It was very weird to hear that he had passed away. He was friends with several of my friends growing up. They all have great memories to share of him. Evidently, he was a funny kid who made everyone smile. I was a funny kid, too. It's a shame that he couldn't get past the fact that I was a Buddhist. I definitely think we could've been friends. He was a really good kid.
I hope Judge is at peace and I wish nothing but love on those who are mourning him right now. There's no doubt that he is sorely missed right now.
